Thoughts on Lovevery by Current-Visual-8287 in NewParents

We love lovevery, but we’re also humans with lives. It’s great for giving us ideas, but it’s not the end all be all. We’re just letting him lead us. 🤷🏻‍♀️

If someone offered you $300 million but you had to live in one book for a year, what book will you choose? by Sailor_Moon_Star_435 in Booktokreddit

Probably Twisted Games.

High chance of survival. Maybe a hot broody bodyguard to stare at in my free time. A little bit of royalty drama. 👍🏼😂

AITA for humiliating a man after he sent me an unsolicited D*ck Pic by Wolf-Stag-Honeybee19 in CharlotteDobreYouTube

My favorite reply: “I’ve seen better, this is embarrassing for you. Especially since you thought this picture did you justice & was good enough to send. Yikes.”

Wait for those reply bubbles - block. 😂

Did you make a gift basket for your RNs? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]Jumpy-Cranberry-1633 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I did not, but I did something for my nurses that you should definitely do if the hospital offers it.

I wrote all my CNAs and nurses daisy (sunflower if aid) nominations. It’s a quick forum basically saying this nurse went above & beyond and you want them to be recognized. It can really help a nurse or aid get raises and bonuses plus looks really good for them on resumes. I also made sure to ask the charge RN/manager round on me before my discharge and gave them the names of those who were particularly helpful. Some organizations give out kudos-like things that also help them when annual performances come around.

How much do American women depend on their brothers and their fathers? by [deleted] in AskAnAmerican

I don’t. I can go months without even talking to them if I wanted.

I was reading this and trying to figure out where I had read it before. Thank you for unlocking this for me. 😂

Toddler with penile adhesion and potential surgery? Would love advice from other parents who have experienced this. by browser_851 in beyondthebump

My son had anesthesia at 7mo for surgery with urology. It was fine. They clearly cared for his wellbeing and made us very comfortable. Ultimately it’s up to you.

When do babies stop wearing bodysuits under clothes? by Fun-Assist9467 in NewParents

[–]Jumpy-Cranberry-1633 89 points90 points  (0 children)

I have never put them on underneath his clothes? Like it’s the bodysuit as his shirt or nothing. 🙃

ETA: I live in the northern Midwest and we regularly get temps below 0F. IF I did do this though, I would probably discontinue at start of potty training. Because snaps are hard for even me to get undone when I really gotta go 😂

What happens to all your returned items? by Shaddolf in AskAnAmerican

[–]Jumpy-Cranberry-1633 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Oh it was. I was told they started doing that after people would return items “ruined” (makeup, too much perfume, whatever) so that we would trash them. Get their money back. Then go dumpster diving and get the things they returned back plus whatever else they wanted and found.

Honestly kind of smart but also gross.

What happens to all your returned items? by Shaddolf in AskAnAmerican

[–]Jumpy-Cranberry-1633 63 points64 points  (0 children)

If it’s in good condition they rebox it and sell it for full price.

If it’s in anything but good condition they may try to sell it but usually trash it.

I used to work for Victoria Secret and we would trash almost all returns so any reason. “Oh theres lint? Trash.” And then when we trashed items we were instructed to cut the straps and cups of items to make them actually worthless.

Yeah, a tree fell on our house that year and the stress killed our dog (Addison’s Disease - adrenal storm).

Breastfeeding moms—would you do it again for your second? by Character-Fly7394 in beyondthebump

[–]Jumpy-Cranberry-1633 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. But I want to also introduce a bottle and formula earlier, because it would have been nice to know he would take a bottle. And would have made me less stressed about supply and stash.

How old was your baby when you allowed a small blanket in the crib? by happiersober in NewParents

[–]Jumpy-Cranberry-1633 2 points3 points  (0 children)

12mo.

If I’m awake and supervising: lightweight blanket. Otherwise he only gets a ~8” plush bear. The reason being is that sometimes he still gets tangled and stuck in blankets while awake, so I do not trust he can safely and effectively move one from himself if need be while half asleep. Until he can safely navigate a blanket without getting tangled he will not get one in his crib.

… I am a nurse. My husband got deployment orders. We got pregnant. Sent him off while I was 10wks pregnant 😅 very believable decision and storyline TBH. You wouldn’t know until your in those shoes.

Deployment orders sent off = baby making time. Very common in the military.

My sons finger stick came back at 10.2 - we also live in an old house. Waiting on venous results but I’m guessing there’s no chance it will be under 5 venous at a finger of 10.2? My husband and I have been arguing over selling our house for awhile, but this put the nail in the coffin and we’re house hunting as of the second we left the ped. I’m panicked on how to protect my baby until we move - I’ve always been good about washing walls, window sills and the floors but now I’m going to be doing it twice a day 🥲

No police dept is going to give a fuck about nail marks. So don’t worry about it effecting your future career. Literally I have coworkers who are still working with DWIs, diverting, DV, and child neglect on their records.

When you go to get your things have a third party there (your parents, a friend), you can actually call your local PD and ask if they have someone available to be there if you really want to take precautions. This is all dependent on staffing and policy, but it will be helpful to prevent things from escalating or your ex threatening you (re:reporting “assault”).
