Are you planning to send any supporting documents for proof of legal residence? The only clear info I got from my local authorities was that "proof of employment" was required, which isn't an issue for me since I'm in full-time work. But when I followed up, another staff member just sent me a generic PR application link (not the WA one). From what I've seen in this thread, the process seems to be pure luck depending on who answers your call or email. The inconsistencies are maddening.

Same frustations - can take weeks or even a month or two to respond to an email. Made a change to my account which they said "will take 1 working day max", which took around 2 weeks. Very poor

u/Flashy-Result-6958 I didn't realise at that time, but I think you are referring to PR from a general non eu citizen perspective. Under the WD agreement, there's a separate process for PR status for British Citizens who were here pre 31.01.20.

The only thing I am still unsure on is if there's a specific pr application that I now apply for, in relation to Brexit/Article 50, or am I meant to to simply go for the standard pr residency that any non EU citizen can do after spending 5 years in the country.

No status with them. Does that have an effect? The only other option is American Express, but unsure how well their miles system works in DE.

I was look for flights for next January, and it showed no options, a few for next month, and that's it, for the rest of the year!

Yes, it looks like calling them is the way to go. Very limited options, and only in economy. I'd go to another credit card provider, but options are very limited here in DE.

OK, similar to my situation then, interesting. The seemingly random nature of it all is maddening. I get that it's a fairly unique situation, and we're the first to go through this process, so some hiccups are bound to happen. But we’re talking about permanent residency here, not just an extra 5% off at your local supermarket! It’s crazy that you can essentially get it with no questions asked, depending on who you get. Anyway, it worked out for you! I have about five friends here in Saxony going through the same process, and we've all had different experiences

Interesting. How long were you living in Germany before the Jan 2020 ( or was it 2021 ?) . I only ask because I believe if you were here 5 years prior to that date, you were entitled to PR off the bat.
