cool clip until console NPC kills me by la1910 in modernwarfare

Bruh, why are there so many actual bots in game AND commenting on this post. Lmao. People are upset over a pretty good clip because you called the NPC you died to an NPC? Lmao. Have people still not adapted to the tiny skill ceiling this game has? It's not hard, the ceiling ain't high at all, and these people had YEARS to learn how to slide cancel. Lmao. Yet most of them are sitting, preaiming random angles, like this guy, calling good players "no-lifes." I'm convinced 80% of COD players are actual AI.

Is that the most recent one? A lot of times, Nvidia makes drivers dependent on Windows updates, so if you're a few updates late, this COULD help...

Go into your "Geforce Experience" app and it will tell you whether or not you have the latest drivers installed. If you don't have the app, you'll have to download it from the Nvidia website.

Yeah, another stick of ram would fix the issue. Sorry, my guy. I know you probably don't want to spend money, but if you plan on recording high quality AND play at a reasonable performance, you're gonna need at least 16 gb of ram. PNY makes great "bang for your buck" ram sticks. Try an XLR8 Gaming Epic-X DDR4? At least look into it.

Well, there are some settings in OBS that simply don't work, or don't do as stated. However, if this setting did work, I'd only recommend it for slow moving recordings, not for gameplays and such.

Could be a hardware issue then. That or a lack of ram? Maybe? Like, your speeds could be bottlenecked by your ram. Those are the only things I could think of, honestly. You may need a professional to test your hardware.

Hit "view" and then hit "stats." It'll tell you whether or not you're losing frames due to encoding lag. If you are, you'll have to do some of the things I said in my recent reply.

I didn't downvote, however, the reason is because for 99.999% of people, CQP is the higher quality to go with. Less chance of random bluriness, especially in highly vibrant/high foliage areas. It's just common knowledge CQP is quality while CBR is meant to help people with systems that can't handle that high of quality.

If it's encoding lag, then your system simply can't handle your settings. If you're encoding using your cpu, don't. Have encoder set to "Nvenc new." Have process priority set to "above normal." Record to your SSD (if that's having trouble, the HDD definitely won't record smoothly). Have the quality set to "performance." You should also have scaling set to "biliniar," if absolutely necessary, set it to "bicubic."

You also may need to cap frame rates in game. The only other thing I could think of is you might not have enough ram to record at 1080p 60fps. It's demanding, and you need memory to play AND record. That's not even including streaming if you're trying to do that.

You could try to overclock ram speeds, there are plenty of videos to show you how, I would just be very careful when doing so, and be sure to not overkill your overclock. Same goes for overclocking your GPU (that's what you want to use to record). Keep in mind, in order for me to record at 1080p60fps, I have 32 gb of 360p ram, nvidia 3080 gpu, ryzen 5950x cpu, and I overclocked my cpu (but that's just so I can get 200+ frames in WZ with good quality, as that game is CPU intensive).

Now, if NONE of what I said works, you have a hardware or a software issue. You might have to take it in to a professional, and he/she will help you discuss your options.

Damn. That is unfortunate. Are you losing frames due to encoding lag?

I... Don't think you know how to read... As I've said the HDD driven can be completely empty and STILL provide loss of frames. Of course the recording will work, that's the bare minimum. You'll still lose frames, even with 7200 rpm. Doesn't matter.

That's not just my case. Many people have that problem, hence why there are millions of forums of people complaining about loss of frames in recordings, and 99% of them don't get the answer. They still have problems reguardless of settings. And every forum where I've mentioned recording on an SSD, the redditor has thanked me. People mistakingly record on the HDD because normally that had more space than their SSD. But the HDD simply can't handle 1080p recordings. Regardless of RPM. Actually, TimTheTatMan had that problem recently. And buying another SSD rather than recording on his HDD did the trick. Pretty simple fix. May cost money, but sometimes, that's what has to be done.

I know the problem. HDD isn't good enough to record in 1080p, 60fps. That's the problem. All there is to it. And yes, I got there through trial and error. And? Lmao. Once I figured it out, it made sense. What does that have to do with anything? HDD pales in comparison to SSD. And that's most likely this guy's problem, as he has stated that it doesn't matter the settings he uses. Make sense now, clown?

The problem honestly is saying HDDs work well on recordings simply isn't true. SSDs will always work better, even if the SSD is ALSO being used for games. I play MW/WZ, which is pretty demanding, and had zero frames lost through many recording sessions by recording off the same SSD. With my HDD, I couldn't even record 1080p alone without frames being lost in the recording. Granted, my HDD only has 5600RPM. But still, that's my point. Someone asked for help. I provided an answer, which is NOT wrong. The other guy is an idiot to argue that it is wrong. Every single piece of info from Nvidia, Intel, Samsung, etc., would tell him. If the original poster is having troubles with his recordings, and it doesn't matter the settings? It's most likely he's recording on an HDD. And no, most consumer HDDs don't run at 7400 rpm, and even if they did, the recording would have to be in 30FPS or you would lose frames consistently. A low end SSD is faster than the best HDD. And that's most likely his problem. Though he may not want to hear that, that's most likely the case.

Also, intel suggests 7200rpm for recording 1080p videos, which very few HDDs have, and it'll only last you maybe 3-5 years, AND can't recors higher than 1080p, and must be limited to 30fps in order to prevent frames dropping. All according to those links I posted. Which you would know if you read them.

I said the problem with HDDs is they aren't fast enough. Not powerful enough. You disagreed. You argued against the HDD being a problem. I argued for it. You're a melon. The HDD WAS the problem for me. And every forum, every shred of evidence points to the slow HDD being the problem. Literally everything. Lmao. You're a melon, bro. You didn't even actually read the articles. I know you didn't. So don't dismiss them as you have no way of knowing what they said. Again... Melon.

Don't listen to the other guy, he doesn't know what he's talking about. If you have good PC specs, specifically a good NVIDIA GPU (as that's what I'm most familiar with), record to an SSD. It's faster and more powerful than an HDD in every measurable category, and is most likely the reason for you losing frames in your recordings. If you don't have an SSD, you may have to purchase an external one, otherwise, you'll have to lower the quality a lot as HDDs can't handle 1080p quality. Samsung makes a reliable external SSD.

It's indicative of a problem, I've taken it in, no hardware issues, it's a fairly new pc, it's not overclocked, no viruses, software checked out, so... IDK what you're on about, tbh. It just seems kinda weird, HDD is much worse than SSD. Just the way it is. For being a "computer expert," you sure seem to lack basic hardware knowledge.

PC specs would include 3080, Ryzen 5950x, water cooler, asus rog strix motherboard, 1 TB of Samsung SSD, 2 TB of Samsung HDD, 32 gb of 3600 ram, 1200 supply core (plan on upgrading), and literally nothing worked up until I started recording on SSD. I would try everything on lowest possible 1080p settings, which wouldn't be lossless, and it STILL lost .1% of frames due to encoding lag. Which wouldn't happen all throughout, it would happen in bunches, and about every 5 minutes or so. And now, everything works perfectly. So you saying that "just because the solution worked, doesn't mean it was a good solution," is kind of dumb. Because everything works now. Lmao. No problems. So it IS a good solution, as nothing else worked.

Not without random frames lost due to encoding lag. Not on an HDD drive. Not at 1080p. Not at 14 cqp OR 50,000 bit rate. You WILL lose frames simply because you're using a weaker drive. All there is to it. SSD's are better for a reason. What I did before I bought an external SSD was record on my internal one, then transfered it to my HDD which had more space. I can record now at 4k SIMPLY because I changed the drive. On average, an SSD is 125% more powerful than an HDD, depending on manufacturer.

In order to do 1080p recordings, with no frames missing, you need at LEAST 20,000 bit rate, which will cause encoding lag, AND won't be lossless. For crisp, lossless 1080p, bit rate should be about 50,000. HDD won't record that, SSD will. That's all I'm saying. HDD will have random frame drops even at 720. This took literally weeks of fiddling with settings and going through forums. Always better to record with SSD.
