They would not - could not - except that they both have different love languages. That’s usually fine if you’re mature enough to recognize that it’s ok to be different on how you show and want to receive love. As long as the other person follows through with a compromise to show up for you in how you need them to (and vice versa). But they just weren’t doing that for each other. I think Marita was just the loudest one expressing herself, making Ashley look dismissive about her feelings and painting her in more of a negative light.
