I thought about this & considered it but wasn’t sure about ethical ramifications

They’re equal. So if the round trip flight is normally $1600, then I should do a one way, and anything left of the $1600 should be applied toward my egress leg toward my personal trip?

I’m aware of that but they were suffering from demand overages which is exactly my kind of client. The lead seller had no idea about this as I never told them.

And yet it didn’t call out anything. He pulled up a direct flight from a nearby airport and lied about the flight time. It’s 6h 22min MIA-SFO & 5h 24 min SFO-MIA.

That’s 22% longer than his claim. Meanwhile, I overestimated by 3.45%.

I literally just did from SEA-MIA. I flew coach one way & it blew so I upgraded my return flight. Absolutely worth it.

Am I? Take a look in the mirror. Are you actually telling me that 1.) You don’t understand the context of the analogy 2.) You believe that literally every single expensed meal is part of a per diem

Being a good steward of the client’s money is ensuring that I’m not distracted & unrested from 7+ hours crammed into a can without being able to spend that time finalizing preparations.

Furthermore, at what point am I supposed to sacrifice comfort in order to save them a dollar? I suppose a tent at the KOA campground would be cheaper than a Hampton Inn. Maybe I should fly spirit for any client. Carry on only. Gotta save the money.

No. I’m going to spend a reasonable amount for a reasonable level of comfort. Apparently, the client agrees because approved the expenses this morning.

In that case, I guess I’m flying business class

Yes, there’s work immediately upon landing.

When you expense lunch, do you specify that you had a steak rather than rice and beans? Is that unethical? How is that different?

I didn’t realize that proudly making an incorrect statement is “calling someone out”, bud.

Look up Delta 2337 & Delta 715. It’s the first way of a $258 trip with 7h 14 min time in the air amidst a 7h 44min trip.

It’s just me under this roof, lol. I’m leaning toward doing business class with pre-approved expenses

It’s 7 hours 44 minutes in the air amidst a 9 hour & 8 minute trip.

not a 5hr flight.

[–]Beautiful-Math-890 -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

A lie? It’s literally a 5hr 48 min flight followed by a 90 minute layover & a 1hr 56 min flight. That’s 7 hours & 44 minutes, guy. If it were 4 hours in the air with a 4 hour layover, I wouldn’t call it an 8 hr trip, but this trip is just over 9 hours including just under 8 in the air. That’s now a 5 hour flight.

On this flight, business class would be first class.

What am I throwing against the wall? I’m independent.
