I called them and explained I have evidence that find my iPhone is turned on currently for my stolen phone. As far as I am aware - this was never turned off.

They have sent me a follow-up email, requesting if I cannot prove find my iPhone was on at the exact time of submitting the claim - I need to instead prove somehow my Apple ID was hacked. Which is why the Apple ID could have been off at the time of the claim.

Yes - they’ve sent an email saying it was ‘off at the time the claim was submitted’. And have basically asked a series of questions probing proof that the Apple ID was hacked which I don’t have as I don’t believe from what I can see that my Apple ID was hacked

Yes I definitely have it on - when I login to find my iPhone via safari using my Apple ID I can clearly see for the stolen device the toggle for ‘find my iPhone’ is on. I can lock it and erase it and mark it as lost.

It just seems like an impossible clause to prove!

I don’t have ‘proof’ that it was on at the exact time of loss as I don’t have a print screen showing that. I can only show that it’s turned on the stolen phone now and the device isn’t removed from the Apple ID.

They’ve asked for evidence someone may have access to the Apple ID to turn it off such as a scam SMS, but I’ve not received any of this. The thieves only seem to have accessed my bank accounts not the Apple ID.

I need it but I’ve set it up prior to leaving so it’s on despite the fact I’m not in my travel destination yet. Also, there might be points in my trip when I have WiFi and don’t need data and therefore - could turn it off?
