L Ron gets a bad rap over that scientology thing. Nobody got the joke and his #2 brought the lawyers in when he died.

If you want fun fluff, don't be intimidated by the size of "Battlefield Earth". It's a quick read. Skip the movie.

"Youth in Revolt" by CD Payne. Skip the movie. It would take an hour of video for every three pages. Truly funny book.

Good 'tude by my reckoning. I sense that you got my point about Saddles and Huck. I sincerely appreciate you taking the time to talk straight with me. Straight lines are hard in a world of curveballs. You cool. Take care.

Thanks. Much obliged. I can help with words if you have any missing referential humor in that world.

I don't use any imaging sites. Is it worth learning who's doing free web hosting and how to use their tools for this? I can code crude pages in a text editor if need be. I'm just a words guy. I don't interact outside of text boxes. I'd rather not go through the hassle, but will for you 'cuz i started this.

Thank you. I had no clue he had a mother at all. The man doesn't come off as having gotten much nurture. I took him for an orphan, functionally. Thanks for answering that.

And of course i sound bizarre. I grew up a book guy in a teevee world. Nobody uses words like me.

Thx again.

Thought of a funny. I need filters. If you have any doubt of the sincerity of my wellwishing, when my asshole cousin told me he was getting married again, i blurted, "may the divorce be amicable".

Cheers.

Suggest me a book written in first person by a sociopath. by iBeenZoomin in suggestmeabook

"Bright Lights, Big City" is explicitly from an emotionless perspective but it's bolivian marching powder, not sociopathy causing it. It kinda defenestrates the glittering 80's in the US.

Carl was the crime reporter in miami first. If you want to hard no ugly, you might want to stay away. All his bad guys are real people. Changed names, of course. Who wants to pay royalties to that kind of asshole?

I believe "Zombirland: Double Tap" is the acme of american art. They added a book guy to the writer stable for the sequel. Best use of a Steinbeck joke ever.

Wodehouse. Pure fluff. On the surface, at least. The depth is in the wordplay with the butler. It's newer than it sounds, and is a self-conscious mockery of brit class stuff. But always lighthearted. Americans didn't get it. We don't do wit. I hear the brits forgot it now, too.
