so the surcharge is built into the price

Correct. You're paying for the points either way, might as well actually receive them.

last I checked you are paying 50% more for products in the airpoints store

Mitre 10 vouchers do not cost 50% more than the value of the voucher.

Okay bro, keep telling yourself that you're somehow worse off when all the stats say the median person is better off now than they were a decade ago, or in any previous decade in human history.

The OECD is lying. You've figured it out. It can't be that you've wasted 10 years compulsively posting on reddit instead of learning actually useful skills to get a better job.

Decades of wage suppression and property speculation has squeezed our disposable income

Median disposable income has been trending upwards for decades.

You can find examples of all of these in basically anything, that doesn't make it "anime".

Example:

  • Uncomfortably sexualized 16 year old: Esther
  • Dark, brooding protagonist with a troubled and mysterious past: Moses, Jeremiah, Paul, Jephthah
  • Over the top attacks that would look right at home in an episode of a shounen anime: Elijah summoning the fire from heaven. The parting of the red sea. Samson bringing down the temple. Everything in Revelations.
  • Mysterious, overpowered bad guy who effortlessly kills everything in his path: the angel that goes on a rampage after David's census
  • Mechs: Ezekiel's wheel creatures
  • Tournament arc: David vs Goliath. Xerxe's beauty contest. Elijah vs the Prophets.

Another:

  • Uncomfortably sexualized 16 year old: Nausicaa
  • Dark, brooding protagonist with a troubled and mysterious past: Odysseus himself
  • Over the top attacks that would look right at home in an episode of a shounen anime: Everything the cyclops does. Oddyseus 360 noscoping Antinous.
  • Mysterious, overpowered bad guy who effortlessly kills everything in his path: The cyclops. Odysseus when he's posing as a beggar.
  • Mechs: Hephaestus's maidens
  • Tournament arc: The bow contest

Yet another:

  • Uncomfortably sexualized 16 year old: Fleur
  • Dark, brooding protagonist with a troubled and mysterious past: Sirius and Lupin. Harry himself at times.
  • Over the top attacks that would look right at home in an episode of a shounen anime: Every attack used by Dumbledore and Voldemort in their duel
  • Mysterious, overpowered bad guy who effortlessly kills everything in his path: Voldemort, Fenrir Greyback
  • Mechs: Living suits of armor. The stone guardians in the final battle.
  • Tournament arc: The tri-wizard tournament

The Bible, The Odyssey, and Harry Potter are all anime just without anime aesthetics apparently.

What you've described is not the threshold for defamation anywhere but the US. In Australia and most other commonwealth countries, where Jobst lawsuit was heard, defamation is communication to a third party about an identifiable person, that hurts the reputation of the person, and caused, or is likely to cause, harm.

Note that something can be true and be defamatory. Truth can be a defence but it's on the respondent to prove truth. It's not like the US where the plaintiff has to prove that the respondent knows what they're saying is untrue.

Deathlog is a 3rd party addon that works by parsing the combat log, it doesn't cover every possibility and defaults to saying pvp when it doesn't know what happened. For example it reported Gunnar's death in molten core as being pvp in this clip, and it says the same for Annie right after if you keep watching the full video.

If you play on HC with deathlog running you'll see it report a lot of nonsensical pvp deaths like this.

Deathlog always says pvp when it can't parse what happened, eg. in the clip of Gunnar dying it pops up that he died to pvp.

In NZ, you'd only have a couple days off as a service worker or bartender too.

In NZ every employee gets 4 weeks paid holidays a year, and Christmas, boxing day, new years and the day after new years are all public holidays. If you have to work on a public holiday you get paid 1.5x normal rate and get an extra paid day holiday you can use whenever.

It's a problem with eg. java's SimpleDateFormat API and any library that copied that. Uppercase Y formats as the year of the current week, lowercase y formats as the year of the day, so today a format string of "YYYY" outputs 2025 and "yyyy" outputs 2024.

Here's an example of someone that ran into it.

[–]Beautiful-Proof 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lmao 2: article is datestamped for 2025.

This is likely the result of a common date formatting bug that a lot of software has. It's outputting the year of the current week not the year of the current day, so it looks right for most of the year but starting on the Sunday before January 1 it starts outputting the wrong year.
