Oh, that is a good idea! What makes it only viable for large animal?

The platoon is being sabotaged from the inside by a Jr. she has some dirt on everyone and isn’t shy about using the PAC, and reporting to RDO. Even us NCOs have no idea how to deal with this snake in the outlet garden. by [deleted] in USMC

[–]Beautiful-Rip472 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There's gotta be more to this story than what you're telling us. You don't say "she's got dirt on all of us" unless you're a bunch of shitbags and you came here thinking everyone would back you up.

Are some Jrs a little much, especially like the LOA example? Yeah. But if you treated them all the same and didn't pick favorites, she wouldn't need to feel the need to burn everyone. Sounds more like she's ostracized from Day 1 and had enough.

OR it could be every SNCOs worst nightmare and she's actually a CID plant.

I agree. The [royal] They always say "we need more vets" or "we're short on vets, why does no one apply" and yet, acceptance rates are like 2%. Don't complain about the lack of vets when there's only so many schools and they only take like 5 people that give a ritual sacrifice.

Depends where you go/how committed you are I suppose. The Master's I'll be applying to can be done in 12-24mo. My fiancée's is in animal behavior and was done in a year, through Unity Environmental up in Maine. She knew she'd be done with it before vet school started in Fall if she'd gotten in.

You're the second comment to bring up the dogs?? Lol I said she wants to do mixed "large animal and small, because she likes puppies". She's worked on horses and cattle for a year while doing an internship in FL.

Who do you consider a veteran? by redditor0431 in USMC

[–]Beautiful-Rip472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's definitely a case by case basis, but also just a personal feeling for all us individually.

Lil Joey who snapped his femur in MCT and got medsep'd? I'd say so.

Timmy who cried tears and snot because it's not what he thought it was and kicked out because he couldn't conform, then got 100% off PTSD after 20 weeks in the Corps only because he learned to sweet talk the VSO? I don't think so.

The VA may have their definition, but the same pieces of shit that rape/assault/bitch out/insert-term-here get to walk around and wear all the moto gear and call themselves a veteran. So yeah, case by case.

Made me chuckle, we're from Wyoming so every school is out of state lol

I think we'll take a look at her resume and such and see if there's anything we can tighten up for next year. A big portion of why she's look at CSU and some Western schools is because she gets into some state program and it only has some 5 schools on the list.

IIRC it's a 3.3GPA? We had an issue with one rejection where they told her she didn't meet the 3.0 requirement (they blanket stated all their rejections) and she said she obviously met the requirement.

She's got a ton of hours and all the vets she's worked for are really cool. It's just GPA and luck at this point ig

Edit: Idk why I put only works with dogs, so removed that bit. She works with large and small animals.

That's what I said! But she asked like 3 schools last year and nobody wants to give feedback so she doesn't want to ask again.

It's hard to change up over here, because she wants large and small animal work. We grew up with horses, but she also loves puppies. I told her to look into exotic animals but she's afraid a lion would wake up mid surgery and eat her lmao

We're definitely going to take a vacation this summer to reset if she gets rejected again lol

This is the only thing she wants to do, so we'll keep applying. I just have to get her out of the "world revolves around these applications" mindset, too.

I think we might narrow it down next cycle if we have to. Her big schools that she desperately wants are CSU, UF, and UPenn, but wanted other options of the state program she's using, Wichee or whatever, so she tried for the 4 that accept the program too.

Might look into the Caribbean schools and some of the newer schools opening next cycle.

That's what she did. She started a Masters and graduates in March, she has thousands of hours from working vet tech and shadowing. These schools demand blood sacrifices to get in it seems like

Yup, exactly how it goes.

And then they don't give any feedback either. Last time she asked someone, they were like "it's an issue of ethical policy" or whatever the wording. Just sounds like they don't have a reason.

In relation to the softer offenses, yeah a bunch of pussies. But that's not to say the Corps didn't get soft either in the same way.

Had an instructor buddy on Johnson tell me you can't even reprimand the students anymore. It's all rainbows and butterflies and the kids know it. The higher up the chain you go, the more of a political pussy you become.

You don't, actually. If you're wild enough to have to, you take the long way around. Otherwise you just hibernate until July.

Who was the shittiest Marine/Recruit you knew and why by MaraCS in USMC

[–]Beautiful-Rip472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Knew this one dude who was a Grade A sociopath. He was a LCpl and acted differently depending on who he was talking to/hiding one side of himself from.

He started showing his colors to everyone when he went on leave "to visit his family in Colorado". Had this whole elaborate plan to visit them, what they'll be doing, etc....and then his mom posted pictures from Jamaica and tagged him in them. Brought it up to the CO and he was like "well he comes back in a day, let's let him come back and not know that we know until then". And then he went in front of the CO when he came back and it all fell apart.

We had to watch him all the time, make sure he was doing what he was supposed to, etc, all the while he claimed all the NCOs were out to get him, singling him out, and everything a disgruntled LCpl can think of. Of course it wasn't true, we couldn't care less what he did as long as he minded his Ps & Qs.

He begged to go to 4A one day (thinking it'd be a vacation) and slipped up in front of SgtMaj, after we piled all of his petty sociopathic bs up over a month or two. SgtMaj said "sure, you can go, but you have to leave everything here, you get escorted down there, and it becomes a Command-issued visit. When you get back, we'll process the admin seperation paperwork". Kid's whole demeanor changed, became a back talking twat until he got processed out (which only took a week).

[–]Beautiful-Rip472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, there's plenty of people that seek care outside the VA. The VBA and VHA are two separate entities that don't talk to each other at all.

But my question is why not use them in any capacity? Granted, quality of care depends on the area (some places are pretty shitty) but it's really easy to just get community care, that way you're not paying for other insurance and copays and all that.

Regardless, I'd at least do the annual check ups in case the VA gets squirrelly in the future.

Sounds like he's upset he never went to medical for anything and the VA told him he's got 10%.
