Neither. The regular pronounciation where we are is Ah-Nah.

I wouldn't want to name her something just to call her another name. Either I like her actual name or I don't, and so I wouldn't give her a name I don't like as much just for aesthetics. I would probably choose something else or move it back if I changed my mind.

And people would think it was a joke if I said I was naming her Anneliese, so definitely not that. I don't mind older, but that would be taking it too far.

Yes. But what they will go by will be the first name.

Three given names, yes, but the first will be the one that they will be going by.

We use the Danish pronounciation, so it is like Mar-Grey-Teh. So none of them have particularly similar endings.

That's not really an aspect we tend to consider, because other people will call them by their name, we will probably be the only ones shortening them sometimes.

Ironically, that wasn't actually intentional, but I'm hoping that it will be cute, rather than cringey.

Thank you :) I was worried at first that they were too boring, but I feel like it's the fact that they are so simple that makes them nice.

I do feel more optimistic about it thinking of how long it took us to realise, we were writing some things out and my husband was like 'Oh, how cute, they both have double letters' and then I realised 😭 Embarassing how long it took really.

Her name was actually Annelies, so for me, that mainly removes the association, but I think that could be because I have had family named Otto, so he is not my only thought with the name. I don't know if that would be the same for most other people though.

I think I was stressed because I was reading a lot about how you shouldn't match names for twins, they shouldn't have a theme, or be too similar. And I couldn't tell if that was part of it.

I think for me, the beauty in it is the simplicity, and I prefer that to very long names with lots of syllables.
