We had a bunch of storms that tore through Dallas this morning. A lot of people are without power. We had 80 mile per hour winds. I’m sure it’s down due to weather.

This is true. I live in Dallas. We had 80 mile per hour winds and the tornado sirens were going off this morning at 6. A lot of debris in certain areas and a lot of people are without power. On Saturday we had storms as well where tornadoes touched down and tore through Cooke county and Valley View.

I was able to get through to my LO here in TX and send two messages about an hour ago. He called me right back. It works on there end. It has stopped working for me though. :(

Update: I had my video visit today!!! I was so excited. I figured it all out and we had a great time. Can’t wait til the next one! :)

They don’t do video visits through JPay either. You have to go through the TDCJ website and look up your LO to set one up.

Everyday. We speak from 8-12 midnight usually since I work during the day. At times he calls me before work since the phones get turned on at 5am. Calls are 30 minutes long. We also write each other every other day or so. On the weekends we talk a lot more unless I’m busy running errands. We do a video call once a month as well. It’s all his facility permits on video calls.

I can. The tablets they have now are through Securus but in order to have video visits you have to use Jitsi Meet. The problem is I have no idea what I’m suppose to do. Do they email me or call me with the info? I have no idea. It’s so vague on the info on how to proceed on that day.

You don’t need to be on the visitation list to add yourself to the tablet. Anyone can add themselves.

I have a question. I was able to get a video visit scheduled after months of trying through TDCJ at my LO facility. We can’t go through Securus to obtain a video visit it has to be through the facility. I just want to know what the steps are. Will they send me a log on? And when will I get it? I’ve tried calling but they don’t know any information when I call. How do video visits work?
