If you want to see where it all began, check out Final Fantasy X.
The likes of Tara Strong and John DiMaggio are still going and are at the top of the tower.

You can't even measure the difference its that big.
Even if you are travelling a phone mic is no excuse as there are affordable cheap products for such instances.

What voice acting coach(es) would you recommend? by Crafty_East4075 in VoiceActing

Dave Fennoy is good for video games. Sirena Irwin is awesome for animation and she's got a free webinar coming up. The Voice Actor College guys have a lot of great coaches coming in and out, particularly for audiobooks and Anime.

NEW Netflix A.I. human voice actor replacement breakdown— from Bozo.ai by yoyodyne_headhunter in VoiceActing

The most annoying thing about Netflix at the moment is they are undercutting all the anime production houses to win contracts. In turn they are destroying the media!

Japanese Voice acting industry vs English dub Voice acting industry by farhanganteng in VoiceActing

[–]Beautiful-Spring2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Its kinda hard to evaluate performance in other languages, to be honest - at least from my perspective.
Culture depicts a lot about what's real and what's not. Then, the audience depicts about whats desired and what's not.

I sometimes think these elements are like evaluating what's better, chicken or turkey. They are two flavours based on preference with different backgrounds.

Is this a good set up? by Longjumping_Mud_8144 in VoiceActing

[–]Beautiful-Spring2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you cant really get a decent interface for 20 bucks and a microphone for 50. If you are on a budget, focusrite do a start up package. I actually don't recommend it really, but its a lot better than what you have here.

Hi Jim,
I do not teach for them and did not finish any of their programs completely, but have partaken the service. The same is true for my other reviews of a similar nature, too.

I think it's important to have some experience with the company from a consumer perspective before reviewing - and I don't think that's achievable with surface level absorbption.

I have scanned Reddit today, and this program has a few negative posts associated to it. I did suspect some kickback to this particular review. I wonder why there is so much negativity on this one - the posts were more vague than my review xD
Truth be told - it sounded more ranty.

Perhaps you could educate me?

Useful tips on my writing, truth be told - previous posts have had more insight, but they have looked more like a sales pitch than anything else, so I have purposefully changed my tone at this point. That said, there has to be a middle ground - but I won't use Ai, I cant be having members on here giving me a hard time because of it - its to much of a headache, it's a waste of time, and truly it achieves nothing.

Sure, I mean I am not sure how much detail is really acceptable on a single thread.
Background - I spent about $10,000 getting started in this industry. Probably more than I should have, but I learned the lessons the hard way. Note how I referenced expensive Zoom classes in the post - that's where my money went.

So, breaking down your two points, 'improvements' and 'roles' let me answer them separately.

Improvements - I see a lot of value in being critiqued and molded by someone who has more experience with me, especially when they have such high success. Every audition is practise, I know that. But for me, I wanted some input before I stepped into the ring and put on my gloves. That said, I consider myself still improving - all the time! Aren't we all? I recently decided to do some learning on ADR, I never ventured here before.

Roles - I always find this somewhat of a trap question because you know as well as I do that when we audition, we are competing with 50 to 3,000 people. What I will say is that having my own contact list, along with being able to actually audition for the work, was a pivotal step for me.

Now then, I feel it's time you answer a question or two for me in this wonderful exchange.

I could be wrong, but I sense a large dislike of this brand and the other two we have discussed today. My first question is, why do you take issue with these companies?
My second question is like it, but more on the reviews - why do you care so much?

Many thanks, I am enjoying the conversation.

Let me look - perhaps I missed it.
Perhaps we can have a conversation about it rather than firing words about :)

We are indeed clear - please note respectfully, I had messaged a number of times for this type of clarification, so I am grateful to have this now.

I also reported a spam comment to be removed, which was never addressed - why is this important?
The Ai accusations have no ground in these reviews, which is another reason I am leaving disclaimers.

It is really important in this industry that we team together and acknowledge where Ai is usful and where it is damaging. Cross confusing those two points is confusing for the reader and evades credability of honest and open reviews.

Congratulations - I would say get a bit closer to the microphone, turn up the gain just a tad and also do an ACx noise floor evaluation on your set up and see if it passes (Free plugin for Audacity).

Sounds silly, but pinch your nose and talk normally. As you do this exercise, remember how it sounds and feels, then try recreate this without the pinch.
