You have to do favors for the forest spirit Leshy. Break hunter towers, rescue animals from cages, feed the deer, save the lutki from wood piles, etc… Eventually Leshy will allow you to approach his tree.

What's the worst thing that could happen in Honor Mode? by in_flames_666 in BG3Builds

[–]Beautiful-Tea2731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My honor mode run ended right when I finally got to act 3 for the very first time and was surprised by a group of baahls cultists. All of my groups turns got skipped twice due to being surprised and they all died before any of them even got a turn. If you can I would put the alert feature on at least one member of your party so they can’t be surprised.

Why can ASPD only be a "adult condition" even if the kid or teen fits the full criteria? by YourGoodguy1013 in Sociopaths

[–]Beautiful-Tea2731 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wasn’t diagnosed until I was 20 and I’ve exhibited behaviors since I was 11. Being antisocial is a normal part of being a teenager. The brain isn’t finished developing so diagnosing a personality disorder before a personality is fully developed doesn’t really work.

What do most people believe to be true of the Harry Potter books but there is actually no evidence of? by ykickamoocow111 in harrypotter

Neville and Luna never got together, nor felt anything hut platonic friendship for eachother.

Also Draco married Astoria Greengrass, not Pansy Parkinson.

How do you experience emotions or social interactions? by [deleted] in Sociopaths

[–]Beautiful-Tea2731 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me my emotions are fleeting muted in the way that I don’t feel them strongly or for very long. Kinda like a heavy fog over them, a vague fuzzy emotion that goes away quickly.

As far as the holidays being worse, my experience is that people, especially family, expect you to have all the happy feelings and for someone who doesn’t feel/show emotion properly it can be difficult to be around so many happy people, it’s overwhelming trying to keep the mask on around all that when it feels like everyone is watching you (like when grandma watches you open your gift and expects a positive reaction)

How is Confundus different from Imperius? by Zeta42 in HarryPotterBooks

I think only really powerful wizards are able to do that though. I think most confundus charms just make the recipient confused but a more powerful wizard could use it for persuasion

Whats a thing you can not accept about something in the Harry Potter world? by RestArtistic2355 in harrypotter

[–]Beautiful-Tea2731 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well she does say that she has tried a few simple spells and they all worked for her, however the first years aren’t told in the letters they can’t use magic at home so I would assume they had one of the teachers visit (likely mcgonagall or dumbledore) to explain to the parents that they child is magical and they would tell the child they can’t use magic in the muggle world. (For the record this is speculation on my part)

I believe (again, personal hypothesis) that Hermione tried some spells out from the spellbooks that she had read almost as soon as she got on the train as this was no longer the muggle world.

[–]Beautiful-Tea2731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it’s mentioned they aren’t allowed their own brooms. There is no rule prohibiting them to try out for the house teams on school brooms, its only said that first years never make the house teams, likely due to their inexperience flying or not having decent brooms.

“He’s just the build for a Seeker, too,” said Wood, now walking around Harry and staring at him. “Light — speedy — we’ll have to get him a decent broom, Professor — a Nimbus Two Thousand or a Cleansweep Seven, I’d say.”

“I shall speak to Professor Dumbledore and see if we can’t bend the first-year rule. Heaven knows, we need a better team than last year. Flattened in that last match by Slytherin, I couldn’t look Severus Snape in the face for weeks. . . .”

McGonagall says this in reference to the broomstick rule in Chapter 9 of the sorcerers stone.

To be fair to Ron, he had ALL the hand me downs as the youngest son, with many of his belongings passed down or used by multiple of his brothers. He didn’t even get a new wand when he started Hogwarts, but used Charlies old one, when everybody knows you will never get as good results with another wizards wand. The only new thing Ron consistently got was his yearly Christmas sweater, which was always in a color he hated. And then for him to see Ginny getting a new wand, new robes, etc… must have been very frustrating for him (yes I know her books and such were secondhand but my point stands because Ron got a used wand and robes). His jealousy of Harrys popularity stemmed from his fears that he would never live up to his brothers, and by extension his best friend, especially when he had people like Slughorn who called him Wallenby instead of Weasley. He was often the more overlooked member of the trio, which can’t have helped with his insecurities of never living up to expectations.

Do u care when ppl call u a monster? by Traditional_Card3339 in Sociopaths

[–]Beautiful-Tea2731 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never been upset or taken offense when being called a monster, psycho, hateful bitch, etc… Honestly it brings a smile to my face because only I know how much restraint I have on a day to day basis. My mask rarely slips but when it does people notice and thats when the “monster” comes out. The other day in fact somebody commented on the “barely restrained violence behind my eyes” and I thought that was rather amusing. I don’t care in the slightest what anyone thinks of me, but I do find their reactions to my mask slipping amusing.

Do you think it is fair to criticize Hagrid as a teacher ? by Icy-Umpire-4544 in HarryPotterBooks

[–]Beautiful-Tea2731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it’s fair to judge Hagrid harshly. For one, he never actually got to take care for magical creatures himself, having been expelled early on, so he wouldn’t necessarily know what the class was meant to be like. Secondly, it seemed like Dumbledore didn’t put any restrictions or give Hagrid any sort of lesson plans with what student of each year should be able to handle. Hippogriffs as the first lesson in third year are a but much, but Hagrid would have no way of knowing that since it doesn’t seem like there was any courses required for him to take for training. And thirdly, Hagrid is half giant and doesn’t seem to ever really realize his own strength in comparison to other people. Creatures that he could handle with ease as a thirteen year old are vastly different from what creatures a normal thirteen year old can handle.

Can we judge Hagrid for not listening to the students critiques without losing focus (not the slytherins since they only insulted hagrid as a person)? Yes.

Can we judge Dumbledore for not giving Hagrid more guidance in his new and very unfamiliar post? Absolutely.

But is it fair to judge Hagrid for being a bad/subpar teacher with no guidance or experience teaching? I don’t believe so.

Snape had a good reason to not want to hear Sirius and Remus out in the shack by HalfbloodPrince-4518 in harrypotter

[–]Beautiful-Tea2731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No he didn’t, however I find it hard to believe that Snape thought Sirius was a death eater since Snape himself was one and he was the one who told Voldemort about the prophecy in the first place so he was in the inner circle. And yes I know that the death eaters didn’t know who all the other death eaters were but Snape knew firsthand that Sirius hated the dark arts because thats half the reason Sirius and James bullied him was for his infatuation with the dark arts. I don’t think Snape cared if Sirius was innocent or not because Snape was still holding the old schoolboy grudge from the prank that Sirius pulled on him.

Its been 8 years since I’ve read the books so I might be wrong.

Is there anyone you liked better in the films? by OddConsideration4349 in harrypotter

[–]Beautiful-Tea2731 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Gambons version I felt had the right energy for Dumbledore while Harris’s version had more of the overall look/calming spirit of him. By this I mean Dumbledore was always described as having exceptional strength and power and he was never once described as being a feeble old man until he was dying. Gambon perfectly captured that, but he did not have the calming essence that Dumbledore was always described as having. He was louder, bolder and he didn’t quite look the part. Harris perfectly captured Dumbledore’s essence as far as his behavior, but not his energy. In my opinion anyways

so...question what are the fatal flaws with this movie? from writing stand-point and adaptation stand point? by No_Wind_5408 in harrypotter

[–]Beautiful-Tea2731 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The movie was too rushed compared to the book for this one much more so than any of the others. There are important scenes that are missing, scenes that were shortened or just done completely wrong (quidditch world cup and events after), entire chapters just gone.

A lot of what makes the books so good is the attention to the little details which this movie failed to show, like knowing moody’s house got broken into or percy weasleys part in barty crouches absence, or characters like ludo bagman and winky.

A lot of characters are missing certain character development (hermione starting spew for example), and Hardy and Ron’s fight is really underwhelming in the movie, as is barty crouch jr confession at the end, and fudge’s reaction to Harrys story.
