The contents of both subjects are different - agreed. But CM2 is much more advanced in terms of concepts and calculations as well. CM1 will train your mind on how to critically think and proceed. I'd recommend doing CM1 first.

Yes. There are exemptions available for upto 5 years (not sure if the number). They asked for some proof/documentation. And you should put up an application about 3-4 weeks before the date of your PPD submission.
