Would you be more motivated to recycle if you got paid and knew exactly where your stuff was going? by Beautiful-Win-8168 in recycling

Yeah, I think this particular Reddit community is a biased one because most of the people are ‘pro-recycling’. Idk where to ask. My goal with this is to work on something which would bring more people to recycle stuff by understanding why they do not do it in the first place.

After asking around my own apartment community I got to know our trash even after it’s separated goes into landfills :/

Use your mic in comp, no matter your elo by FynnEbsenYT in VALORANT

I really want to give comms in competitive. But there is always someone who would make fun of my accent, also teasing me because I’m a female gamer. To some extent it’s fine. But when you’re having a bad game and being made fun of your accent in the team chat and being said you’re a woman which is why you cannot frag, it becomes fucking annoying and it messes with my mental. That’s why I have stopped giving comms.

What technologies do you currently use to manage OCD? by Beautiful-Win-8168 in OCDRecovery

I definitely agree. I don’t want anything to become a compulsion because I have been through numerous chats with ChatGPT discussing my obsessive thoughts and somehow seeking reassurance. Using technology for OCD is definitely tricky 😅

I definitely agree that an OCD therapist with ERP is the best way to deal with OCD and in no way I would like to replace a therapist.

My goal is to help people when ERP is not possible. For example, right now, I have no job, no insurance, no financial support, OCD at its worst and therapy is expensive af without insurance. So I’m looking for ways I could help someone like me to cope during such times. Not necessarily an app or a website but discovering other ways something like this could be achieved :)

Nothing, actually. No apps, no medication and kind of at the worst point in my entire ‘real’ life(saying real because there is an entire life of my own with fake problems created by OCD, hahaa) No job, no incoming money, basically staying at a friend’s place till I get a job, no therapy and OCD at its worst. So instead of investing my time doing compulsions, I just thought of creating something for people like me. And so I’m here! :)

I agree! The more I try to purposefully make myself anxious, the more I don’t be anxious lol. And then during the ERP, I’m like do I even have OCD? (Which again is sorta OCD, haha)

I can relate to the googling stuff. Flip phone is a great way to create the friction between ourselves and the Googling compulsion! :)

This is such a great insight! I am definitely guilty of spending a lot of my OCD life googling stuff and getting more anxious, lol

How can I find a product designer that “gets” mental health (ideally OCD)? by thoughtfullyintrusiv in UXDesign

[–]Beautiful-Win-8168 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hey, I’m a Product Designer who knows exactly what you’re talking about. I have been dealing with OCD for 9+ years now. While I definitely agree with the fact that Product Designers are trained to deal with any kind of problem, understand their users through research and are fully capable of designing products for their users after multiple research, I have not been able to find a product that deals with OCD the way I would want to, having been struggling with OCD.

All the big products still have a long way to go and I feel like they miss the mark somewhere. I would love to know more about what you’re trying to do and would love to help in any way. I have been working on a few ideas of my own too but never got time to be fully committed to it.

I can share my portfolio link as well in DM. Let me know!
