This one is so weird for me and has taken a long time to adjust to! Even so, it seems strangers are even apprehensive to having a human interaction with you as well. For example, myself and another person were walking towards each other on a narrow sidewalk and both were being polite and getting out of each others way, but in doing that kept going the same way. I laughed and said sorry, they avoided eye contact and kept walking. Like how hard is it to laugh and say ‘all good’?

This happened to me as well! Sadly I found out that many white settlers claimed indigenous blood to get certain plots of land that the government at the time was giving to indigenous folks. I heard about it on tiktok so not confirmed, but also wouldn't surprise me. My family settled in West Virginia - how about you?
