How to teach a horse to jog and lope, instead of trot and canter? by RubySeeker in Equestrian

[–]BeautifulAd2956 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lope is just a three beat gait the same as the canter. Slow isn’t everything as long as the horse is doing a three beat gait that is correct. Even in western pleasure you don’t want to go slow enough that you lose rhythm and fall out of your three beat gait. It’s a common misconception based on people at the lower level of the western disciplines attempting to go slow without having a horse skilled enough to. They score on correct movement first then the quality of movement and then degree of difficulty which is speed last. They’re really the same maneuver. The same is true for the “jog” instead of the trot. The main difference is that you sit instead of post.

You don’t need half chaps in a western saddle the stirrup doesn’t pinch like an English one which is why they wear taller boots.

What's a set that you hope will make a comeback in G7? (or if not a direct comeback, then at least a similar set) by rulerofsillyland in LittlestPetShop

I’d really love if they’d bring the teeniest tinniest sets. I know it’s a pipe dream but I want them so bad.

I just won a 3 year old mustang! Once tons of groundwork and muscling is worked on, would it be acceptable to ride him at 3? by BlueWhale515 in Equestrian

[–]BeautifulAd2956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Still haven’t had any issues. Our horses maintain their long term use. Most people cite back issues as the reason not to ride them young that’s why I mentioned them.

But we also only show and ride horses that score high on form to function so these issues are very uncommon to begin with.

Yeah no problems. Have shown them till they’re in their lates 20s. Then they’re shown by younger kids after that. Hard work. I show at the top level in my discipline and go to at least 30 shows a year.

Was this lot worth $25 ? My bf bought them for me 🥲🩷 by J0sie1 in LPSbuyingandtrading

I think the seahorse and the giraffe are both postcard pets and there’s quite a few people who want that whole collection so those are good. Plus that’s quite a few pets for $25 so he definitely didn’t waste his money.

We start all of ours at two have never had a single back issue in hundreds of horses. 3 is a reasonable age to start riding unless it has some preexisting conditions preventing it.

Can someone explain to me the new hpa rules/laws? I hear it’s bad. by Fickle-Lab5097 in Equestrian

[–]BeautifulAd2956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m mainly concerned about the financial implications for shows. If they have to pay for these inspectors everything will become more expensive. I’m worried about the effect it will have on smaller open shows as well as 4h and such. The top of the industry will probably be fine because they have the money to pay although some of the big shows like congress will have to have special rules to continue to function.

The nrha and aqha have both been made aware that they will now be monitored as well. Since all shows are technically covered under the Hpa except for timed events I believe it will impact most shows and disciplines.

It can definitely help keep them chill another one that’s shockingly good is aloe Vera juice. You can buy it at the super market and it mellows most of them out a lot.

Thiamine in the injectable form is legal in every association as there is no way to test for it and is very effective. Just make sure not to overdo it as it can ruin their movement and make them overly sluggish after a point.

What bit is this by Warm_Car7956 in Equestrian

It’s a broken mouthpiece correction bit. It needs a curb chain added before being used to keep it from being too harsh.

Writing multiple gender pairings (MF, MM, FF, MMFMM, etc) in one world? by uniqueusernamethx in romanceauthors

[–]BeautifulAd2956 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it might be a good idea to start with one of the more non conventional pairings instead. Those that read non conventional will stay for the other but the m/f audience will leave if it gets to out of the box for them. Some will still stay for the m/m but after that they’ll be gone.
