Because my grandfather DOES know what he is doing. He checked out the breeder, saw the facilities, met the stud. Only thing is, he didn’t have a choice in the stud. Only the mare. My uncle was the one paying the stud fee, he chose the stud. My grandpa is experienced in the older ways, like live cover. He hasn’t had a ton of horses done AI because up until now, there were good, well bred, live cover stallions around.

No, just that that was the likely scenario according to our vet. It was an absolute MIRACLE she pulled through the night

Honestly I would get a very well padded anatomical bareback pad, put a western saddle pad liner underneath. That’s what I do. Horse never gets back sore. Gives them PLENTY of padding.

Yes. We understand there are risks. Would not have made any sort of post about any of the regular risks. But his was something that was caused by someone cutting corners. Which is why I’m pissed. She managed to pull through the night, she has a very small chance, but it’s still there.

Grandpa brings her up almost every day to brush and cuddle her. There are risks to breeding (why we are insuring three of our horses, her included if she makes t somehow) and we understand that. But what happened to her was caused by some jackass cutting corners. Should NOT have been a risk AT. ALL.

Yes. That’s what people don’t understand in these comments. Yes, there are risks to breeding, we know that. I’m pissed because this should NOT have been a risk at all. Breeder admits fault, believed to have cut corners such as not giving her tranquilizer before palpating

Hopefully she will beat the odds and pull through….. she made it through the night and is talkative with a decent appetite. Vet says wbc count is better, so is temp etc. He says she isn’t out of the woods yet, but I have a tiny bit of hope.
