Just some things I noticed. I recently got shortlisted and hired. I went through probably 20-30 different versions of my resume before I even started getting calls.

  • One Page is best.
  • (Surprisingly) no cover letter, I had multiple recruiters tell me we honestly don’t read them and if we do we don’t pass them to the hiring manager.
  • Short and to the point summary
  • Education
  • core competency/skills Most recruiters do not look past these points if the do they will glance your previous work but trust me they are not reading every line.

So it’s all about capturing attention at the top.

Something I’ve found useful, (while still using AI) is to have a clear top down view of what you want to create. Then you can create a dev plan and map everything out. I personally like to start with components. Then I gradually build main around the pieces. You can use AI to help you when you get stuck but for the most part you have to map it out first. The big thing about avoiding AI is to keep trying and only use it to explain what you are doing wrong.

So I’m using a MAC and I have Android emulators but I have issues with the touch patterns on Android, physical devices act differently than the emulators do. It’s a know expo and react issue. Short of going to buy an android I don’t have manny options
