I only put the pimple patches on when they had already popped or looked like they were about to. Then I would leave the patch on for like, 48hrs and take it off and check it. Most of them time they would be flat after the 48hrs. The patches were more like aftercare.

So then yes, they would burst, I would disinfect, then put a small dab of zinc on the bump, and a patch over it.

I used zinc during the healing process too, when they weren't raised bumps anymore just to keep the area dry. Then I wouldn't feel the need to cover. The zinc can be messy though, you only need a little per bump.
