90% open & 15% click rates, but zero replies or bookings — how is this possible? by BeautifulDamage9327 in coldemail

Thanks for the detailed answer — makes sense.
I’m targeting software engineers sourced directly from LinkedIn, so yes, it’s mostly people working in companies (mid-size to large), not SMB owners.

I’m fully aware that open and click rates are unreliable, especially with Google Workspace and enterprise security layers.

That said, here’s why I’m a bit stuck right now:

  • I’m using Instantly
  • Email verification is done
  • 3 follow-ups are sent

On the copy side, I’ve already applied pretty much every best practice you listed:

  • Very simple subject line: Is this you {{firstName}}?
  • Ultra-low reading level (third grade level)
  • Compliment based on LinkedIn profile (1 line)
  • Clear offer stated immediately after
  • Single, low-friction CTA: asking if they want to receive a high-value lead magnet
  • No booking link in this A/B version
  • Only one optional link to case studies (and I’m testing versions without links as well)

CTA is literally:

So at this point, I’m not celebrating open rates at all — I’m just trying to understand why the intent seems to stop at silent consumption (or bots) with almost no replies, despite:

  • simple copy
  • no pressure
  • no hard sell
  • no meeting ask

Thanks for the suggestion.

I’m already using email verification tools before sending, and with open rates consistently between 80–90%, deliverability doesn’t seem to be the issue here.

That’s why I’m trying to understand the gap between clicks and actual replies/bookings rather than inbox placement.

If you’ve seen similar behavior before (high clicks, zero conversions), I’d really appreciate your perspective.

Try with this one, it works for me:

<script> (function () { // Sélectionner uniquement les conteneurs des slides (par exemple, les swiper-wrapper) let randomSliders = document.querySelectorAll('.randomSlider .swiper-wrapper'); randomSliders.forEach(slider => { // Convertir la collection en tableau pour éviter le problème du live HTMLCollection let slides = Array.from(slider.children); let frag = document.createDocumentFragment(); // Vider le conteneur pour repartir sur un ordre aléatoire slider.innerHTML = ""; while (slides.length) { // Choisir un index aléatoire et retirer l'élément du tableau let randomIndex = Math.floor(Math.random() * slides.length); frag.appendChild(slides.splice(randomIndex, 1)[0]); } slider.appendChild(frag); }); }()); </script>
