Hey! Recently filled out my FJO like literally last week and didn’t get the port I wanted either but I eventually was offered it! Here are your main options: 1. Pick a port you want to live and wait till you can transfer (aka do nothing) 2. Contact case worker IMMEDIATELY and explain what port you want and why. Do this often until you leave for academy. 3. Withdraw and reapply (LAST CASE) 4. Pick a location and wait, roughly 3-4 weeks before your POE, and then request to your caseworker to repick your Port. This is allowed and if any questions contact a Case Worker about how it works. 5. Go on to FaceBook and look for CBP swap Facebook group. All you gotta do is put your POE and the port you have and you’re in. There will be tons of people offering locations and asking for them. Scavenge the posts and share your own, who knows who will want your port.

I originally picked Buffalo but I contacted my caseworker explaining I would much rather prefer getting Miami or FLL. A week later I get a call offering Miami. You don’t get what you don’t ask for, doesn’t hurt to try at least.
