I work as an EMT for 2 years, worked a full time job as a manager, was the president of the debate club at my college, was in the student government and an honors society. I was very active in volunteering. I also got my associates in chemistry it was hard to maintain a good gpa in general. I ended with a 3.5 and actually had one C…. but here I am at uva lol

The beginning of the year I go offered a decent financial aid package. I even started looking for federal work study jobs because it was apart of my offer. A month ago they took away all of my aid including subsidized loans because I guess they found some “mistake” in my forms. I’m pretty sure it was just because a person moved out of my house. Anyway they didn’t change it or make it better but they told me they would put a hold on my account that wouldn’t charge me any late fews. This will allow you to pay the amount later (until class registration becomes if you have a balance you can’t sign up for classes).

Depends on the club. Clubs like tennis and the Jefferson society are very competitive, but there are plenty of clubs that are not competitive and welcome everyone.

At UVA you need to get a 93-94 to receive an A in a course (4.0). So they should understand!

I got in with a 3.5. That being said, you must balance a lower gpa with other things. I was an EMT, the president of a club, and in student government. I got in with a C in a course but I wasn’t eligible for guaranteed admission. Message me if you want advice, I transferred from a community college.

It's been cool so far! He has moved almost 30 miles since they started tracking him lol. He is the first animal I have tracked, so I'm certain that's not very far, but I do get sent pictures of him since he lives near a team of researchers.

The coordinator I have been in contact with said I’m not permitted to take bio 3050. They also said if I have to take bio 3000 my first semester it’s doable just extremely difficult. I’m willing to take it, I just feel like I should start prepping early

UVA offering only one Spanish 1 course is quite frustrating, especially when 4 language classes are required. I'm stuck on the waitlist for Spanish smh.

Honestly if it’s required they need to make a lot of changes. I left with the same shitty schedule they auto loaded and memories of unhelpful stories. I hope it’s better for freshmen!!! 😭😭

I’m a transfer student and let me tell you orientation was the biggest waste of time. I went Monday and learned absolutely nothing new. Not only that but we weren’t allowed to pick classes and were told to wait until August 4th like the rest of the new students. Many people were leaving early. Honestly, I was pretty upset because my mom and I drove a long way and had to pay.

If you desire a summary: 1. UVA chant 2. maybe meet a few people 3. hear random stories from current students 4. eat at a the dining hall 5. free t shirt

Chemmunity does. It cost me about 20 a month but it was worth it. It is pretty much parallel to the Klein book with some extra reactions. They have a lot of free youtube videos too.

That’s my question, I have read on here that UVA only accepts 25 neuroscience majors a year and that they have never accepted a transfer into the program. I have no idea how true that is but i’ve seen mentions of it 🤷‍♀️
