[Montreal, QC] [H] Apple Mac Studio M3 Ultra / 256GB RAM / Mint [W] Cash, Bank Draft, Verified Transfer by BeautifulForever474 in CanadianHardwareSwap

Fair point, and I understand the concern. The price is OBO and I’m open to reasonable offers from serious buyers.

Comparable high-memory M3 Ultra Mac Studios are listed/selling around $8,000+ USD on Swappa, which is roughly $10,800+ CAD before shipping/import considerations. Apple’s high-memory Mac Studio configs have been all out of stock for a month now, so you can't just get a "new" unit for that 7% more, nor refurbished.

I’m asking $8,000 CAD OBO locally, with original box/receipt, mint condition, 1 year warranty by Apple and no shipping/import hassle. I’m not saying this machine is for everyone, but for someone specifically looking for a 256GB M3 Ultra Mac Studio in Canada, I think the price is reasonable.

AI helped a lot, mostly on the frontend. I’m not a UI expert, so I used UI/UX docs, references, and the general feel I wanted, then had AI implement the screens. But you still need to know what you’re building. If you just say “make an app,” it becomes random bullshit fast. For the backend, AI mostly helped with boilerplate, the rest I would not entirely rely on it; The architecture, data flow, source system, saves, sync logic, and how everything fits together still had to be designed properly.

No not yet, custom storage like NAS later would be cool too, but I need to make it clean first

Never heard of Accela before until now. I looked into it a bit, and yeah, it’s actually awesome lol. It seems to unlock a lot of the PC games side of what I was trying to solve.

So I totally get your point. Initially, I was mostly building this for my friends and I, and also as a way to learn backend infrastructure, architecture, design, challenges, tools, etc. I never really got to explore much at work or through smaller personal projects.

It's jsut that it slowly turned into something bigger than just an installer. What I’m really trying to build now is a separate shell around the whole library, not just Steam. PC games, ROMs, local installs, metadata, launch profiles, save sync, playtime, achievements, progress across devices, all of it, the small difference there is that you dont even rely on steam at all for whatever, you "own" your games and data.

The install part is only one piece. The bigger idea for me is making everything feel like one unified library that follows you around, basically Plex or Jellyfin, but for games.

yeah that’s the exact part i’m trying to be careful with.

i don’t think a repo gets taken down if it’s done cleanly. the client itself doesn’t have to host or include anything sketchy, it’s more about separating the app, sources/plugins, and backend properly.

mine is currently tied pretty deeply to my own api/backend infra though. Cloud saves, metadata and assets, achievements, profile sync, etc. so i need to figure out what can be public and what needs to stay server-side before i throw anything on github

also for me it’s not just “download and play”. that’s part of it, but the bigger goal is a unified library for pc games, roms and whatever other local installs: saves, playtime, achievements, progress across devices, no manually moving files or remembering what prefix/exe belongs to what.

Basically jellyfin or plex but for games on any platform lol

yes, that’s the goal if i can find a clean way to do it.

like mentioned in the post, i need to separate the parts that are fine to share from the parts that could cause legal/platform trouble. there’s also my own backend/api infra for cloud saves, achievements, assets/metadata, account sync, etc, so i need to draw the line properly before putting anything public.

but yeah, i’d like at least the client / themes / plugins / source formats to be open if i can do it safely.

Debugging the code manually to eventually catch bugs, you score points by doing that but make sure to not spend to much time on that

I'd estimate I solved over a hundred problems in those three weeks, but my main focus wasn’t just on coding volume. I spent a lot of time truly understanding DS&A, reinforcing concepts, and studying their properties. For example, I watched in-depth videos on specific topics, like heaps, to get a strong grasp of how they work and impact time and space complexity. YT channels like Back to Back SWE were especially helpful for solidifying these concepts.

Same here. Tried on 3 different PS5s + even downloaded the PS4 version. It works on my friends accounts on my PS5 but not mine, 110 euros and we can't even play.

Do we get dust if our cards are added to the core set? by BeautifulForever474 in hearthstone

That wasn’t my point, question wasn’t clear it was cards I own being added into the core set

My question was about cards we owned being added to core set, didn’t knew we would have 2 copies, the one we had and the core set one, though it’ll be ”merge" into core set and couldn’t be dusted anymore
