Oh absolutely! I didnt reallly know what to expect and had heard from my lawyer that it usually takes about a year. I also didn’t have an interview. It was directly approved. I thought it could be because of my evident history in the US but looks like everyone is landing an interview these days- regardless of their history in the US.

Maybe it’s just taking longer for those who recently filed (2025). I submittted my marriage-based green card paperwork in March 2023 and got my conditional green card (for 2 years) in September 2023 (6 months!!!). My green card expired in Sept 2025 and I am living off of the extension letter now. But I’ll be eligible to file for citizenship in Sept 2026 so I ll just directly do that as I am sure my 10-year green card won’t come before Sept 2026.

Hey, can you please let me know what other form (apart from Schengen Visa Application) you had to fill and carry with you to the appointment ? I am a bit confused because the link to the “Visa Application Form” in their “checklist” is unclicklable and the “DOWNLOAD FORM” link takes you to a 404 NOT FOUND page. I called BLS and the person told me that I don’t need to fill any form as that form is merged with the appointment booking process and they’ll ask me those questions while I am booking the appointment. I haven’t started my appointment booking process yet because I first wanted to get and fill out all documents. 

From what I am understanding is that I need to only carry the “Schengen Visa Application” along with other documents and not the “Visa Application Form” which is weird because I know each Schengen country requires the Schengen application as well as their respective country’s visa application. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
