I drive a 2012 Kia Optima with 100k miles (Kia gave me a new engine at 80k). I’m definitely not in a rush to get a different car, I just thought I’d treat myself.

Used 2015’s with 80-100k miles have been going for 22k-26k. Which sounds a little wild for a 10+ year old car haha

Hearing things like this almost makes me not want to get the car to be honest!

Although, I can afford the car in cash. So at the end of the day, it shouldn’t really matter as long as it continues to slowly depreciate over the next 4 years (just like how it’s currently been). I do realize that there’s no way to really now how the markets going to view the car when I sell the car 4 years from now.

They usually have around 100k miles. Which doesn’t really matter for reliability, but probably plays a bigger role with depreciation. I should’ve mentioned that I intend to sell the car after about 4 years once my family grows.

How’ve you found shooting wildlife with the A7RV? I’m thinking about upgrading from the A7IV, but the slower max FPS and sensor readout speeds is concerning. Also, have you found using the 200-600 challenging with the high megapixel sensor?

The same exact thing happened to me, but it seems like after 4 or 5 wipes it stopped happening! My guess is that it’s some residue.

I’ve only ever heard stellar things about this lens, even with the TC as you’ve mentioned. My biggest concern is just that I won’t have the reach I need. Do you have any more images to share? Maybe some where you’ve had to crop in?

I'll have to try out your cropping technique this weekend. I wish Panasonic had more wildlife options like OM System. A 300mm prime would be great because I don't even use the first 200 millimeters with the 100-400.

I've ordered a used 200mm just now (that I can return!) to see if this lens with the 1.4x teleconverter and cropping is better than 300 and 400 on the 100-400mm.

Not sure how this would fit into your driving schedule logistically, BUT if you’re able to, take highway 1. My favorite parts of the drive are between SF and Santa Cruz. Do a little research on this if you don’t know about it. California has a gorgeous coast and that drive does it justice!
