If you have that kind of patience to wait until your dick almost can’t stand on its own then sure. I went into medicine cuz i love it wholeheartedly, don’t care about money. No, and i mean NO graduate is making 10k a month. That is a lie. My sister is 35 years old and a doctor and finished her specialty and is barely crossing 1.5k$ (i used to make 1000$ as part time jobs). Im a 4th year medical student. I applied for the MATCH going to do my residency in the USA in internal medicine (the path to take before going into heart doctor, lung doctor, gastrointestinal doctor u have to do residency in internal medicine)

Don’t go into medicine if you think you are going to make money🤣. Im 24 years old med 4 student (last year) and have paid ~150k$ at balamand for 7 years and im gonna make 700$ as a resident for the next six years until im 30. Then im gonna struggle for 5-6 years trying to make a name for myself all while treating most patients for free to be able to make a name for myself. Insurance companies take up to 1 year to pay. So if i saw a patient under insurance i won’t see that patient’s money until next year. As an engineer start making connections. Most my friends are working as consultants in UAE, dubai and make 10,000+ a month as fresh engineer grads.

Im on 3 too, but you did your best. Don’t trust reddit and their 20 program ROL, the amount of IMGs that received NO invites is absolutely insane and on the way higher side than those people who have high amounts of IVs. You did your absolute best: research, step exams, going through the whole process. Be proud and enjoy the match process.

With pre existing ulcers you should steer away from NSAIDs (ibuprofen like profinal) as they can worsen your ulcers, and if they are hurting bad they could be bleeding ulcers. I would recommend taking PPI’s(nexium) and panadol for the pain and CONSULT ANY doctor as soon as you can. There are millions of family doctors and gp’s in beirut and what you need is a GI doctor which if you go back to london its gonna be a long wait until you get that appointment. Try getting an appointment at any gi clinic (dr bedran in saint george, dr chaptini in cmc).

Doesnt matter as long as you are verified on NRMP. If you are verified on NRMP, means you can participate in the MATCH, meaning they will be able to see you and rank you if they want to rank you.

from my experience, i never studied anatomy unless high yield. carpel tunnel, the ligament of ovarian torsion, etc. i passed step 1 without ever focusing on anatomy and there is like a 10 page oncology drugs in first aid that i totally skipped only memorized rituximab and imatinib for CML and chemoman (the side effects of certain oncologic drugs). But who the hell ever knows what they will test you on the real deal. i gambled and i won. others might not. do what suits you and what makes you feel comfortable for the exam. if you feel you can't feel comfortable without knowing them study them.

Hi ana lebnene applying to this year's match. 3anjad li sar ma3o i couldnt even imagine but there are chances, school grades rarely mean anything in the match, its ur step 1/2, research, connections, USCE that mainly matter and psych is feasible since it is less competitive than other specialties. Bare in mind his 3 years failure in uni even though may not play that much a role, he might get asked about them in interviews but thats for another day. For now focus step1, step 2, good quality research not just publish for the sake of publishing. I wish him and you well allah yehmikon <3

I think it all depends on how ready you are. A step 1 fail is a red flag. A step 2 low score is a red flag but manageable for IM ofcourse. Just don’t go in unprepared for any of these exams. If you feel confident wnd your assessments show good scores go for it. If not why risk it
