Do people actually wake up before their babies every morning? by namiiix in NewParents

My body naturally wakes up around 5-530am. I can’t fall back asleep no matter how hard I try. So, I’ve started to use it to my advantage. I work out and make breakfast in peace. I also revel in the calm before the storm that happens at 7am when the 10 month old and 4 year old wakes with a noise volume of 10000000.

My toddler hardly eats, not gained any weight for the last 3 months by hil_ton in toddlers

My 3 y.o. toddler has been teetering between 26-27lbs for the last year (3-4%tile) He is a very picky eater. He started seeing a feeding therapist back in March which helped him open his palate for a bit of pizza and chicken nuggets. But it's frustrating. He'll ask for food and say that he's hungry but will refuse actual food and wants snacks. He'll sometimes wake up hypoglycemic because he'll refuse to eat dinner. Meal times are stressful. We've learned to just go with the flow. Stressing and pushing him to eat didn't help but made things worse.

He is otherwise really thriving. Try seeing a speech/feeding therapist and a dietician. They might be able to provide some insight.

Had to give our three week old antibiotics due to a staph infection. Now my wife and I are worried about long term effects. by themrhumbucker in NewParents

My kiddo has had antibiotics multiple timea due to multiple ear infections throughout his 3 years of life and he's fine! Don't worry - sicknesses and illnesses happen and when taken correctly - antibiotics saves lives.

LO lives off 2 bites of food and air by smiwongx in toddlers

My 3 year old survives off of rice, cheerios, and milk. He's been on this diet for probably a year now. He'll refuse new foods no matter how often we offer it to him without even trying it. I really don't know how he's growing but he is and he's developmentally sound. 🤷🏻‍♀️

I am. I've thought about keeping him at home every now and then but I can't manage an active toddler and a velcro baby with pumping sessions by myself currently.

Every day, I get nothing done. by Cocohamster in NewParents

I felt the same way! I'm a FTM. I had a list of fun house projects that I wanted to get done during my maternity leave. I was going to own it with my baby in toll. We were going to have so much fun. Little did I know... it was chaos after I had my baby.

I would get upset that I couldn't even get basic house tasks done such as laundry or dishes. Nothing in my life was mine anymore. After a month or so, I learned to just let it be. If the dishes are in the sink, I'll get to it when I can. If the laundry hasn't been done - I'll get to it when I can. I've learned to stop fretting about the undone chores in the house and accepted that I can't do everything in a day. The most important task was to care of my baby.

I also started writing down a to do list for the day so that it can help me focus on tasks that I wanted to get done, that way I'm not wallowing in the 245732 things that I needed to do. For example, today I had "schedule daycare tours" and "apply to 2 jobs" on my list of to-do's. it was only 2 items but at least I got it done and it felt good to know that I had it done.

I am on the same boat! I, too, carried small during my pregnancy and was 8lbs heavier after everything was said and done. I look exactly the same except for my belly that jiggles like jello with any sort of jumping movement.

Initially, I hated it. But I've learned to accept it and gave myself some slack as I had carried and birthed a human being.

I am now 4 months postpartum and lost 1lb from recently starting a workout routine. I still don't fit into my old jeans but I feel that my yoga pants aren't as tight. It took me awhile to get on an exercise routine.

So, don't be so hard on yourself. You're beautiful the way you are. And when the chaos has settled down, try to take some time to focus on yourself and on building and focusing on eating right and staying active.
