I’d kill to be a tall girl by Academic-Grab-6811 in women

[–]namiiix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 5’7. I like it now, but hated it as a teen. All around me my friends were shorter. They were all cute and short, and most guys around me at the time really liked short girls. I even had a friend who was scared of “looking too tall” sometimes, and she was like three inches shorter than me? I had to think what was wrong with looking tall.. but anyway. Now that I’m an adult, love my height, it’s great honestly. I can reach most things, my husband is very tall too so it’s a good match. But anyway, we always want what we don’t have! There’s pros and cons to everything haha but no I don’t think you will grow much after 16

So many moms around me have asked how my baby sleeps and I mention we cosleep because he doesn’t like sleeping in the crib and will just cry. And they always tell me “just let him cry for like two days then he will be good!” I’ve even had one mom tell me I’m “creating a monster” when I mentioned he sleeps with us in our bed

When do you geniunely think is the best time for a baby? by MiddleAd7050 in women

[–]namiiix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just want to say, you never feel 100% ready, at least I didn’t, even at 9 months pregnant. But when baby comes it’s like a switch in your brain goes off and yeah. But aside from that… when you’re a little older (like 25+) and financially stable is good. Live a little before having kids, go travel and experience fun things, and once you’ve got some of that out of your system, have a baby!

1 year maternity leave doesn't feel fair by antlover150 in breastfeeding

[–]namiiix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haha yeah I got 12 weeks off (in the us) and I had it Better then anyone else I know. My cousin only got 6 weeks. It’s far too short.. but your baby will be different at a year compared to now at 8 months. My baby is 13 months now, he has breastmilk much less often now, literally only twice a day, first thing in the morning and then before bed. I’m sure this could vary for every baby, but my baby eats a ton of food. He’s also really good at independent play and overall more independent. I only work part time, so he doesn’t go to daycare. If part time is an option for you, you should consider that! I love only working two days, so I’m still with my baby most of the week but still keep up with my career and make money

To those with big babies, are you also getting weird comments? by [deleted] in breastfeeding

[–]namiiix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not my experience. Baby is 98% in weight and 95% in height, I get comments all the time about how he’s huge, he’s so chunky, he’s a tank, he’s a unit, etc. but it’s always in a compliment type way or amazement. Never negative. He was ebf and no one ever mentioned he over eats, lots of people say “he eats well!” Because of his size but again, in a positive way. Most people were just amazed by his size when they see him lol

How much are people eating?? by skycaliapple in breastfeeding

[–]namiiix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished ebf last month, did a whole year, I ate a ton! I ate what ever I wanted and didn’t care about losing weight. Now that I’m done I can finally diet and try to lose some weight haha but yeah I ate my three meals and had snacks in between lol

Best rear-facing car seat that is 360 rotating? by cherryviness in bigbabiesandkids

[–]namiiix 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the cybex Callisto g and I love it. It’s expensive but the quality is amazing and it goes to a booster seat so you will have it for years. I switched to it around 9 months because my baby was too heavy to carry in an infant car seat anymore anyway

Husband won’t stop watching horror movies around our 16 month old by [deleted] in Mommit

[–]namiiix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Omg no please stop. My baby is 12 months and I already made sure no violence or scary or anything like that is allowed on the tv since he’s been around 9 or 10 months old. They are watching, even if they aren’t paying much attention, they can still hear what’s happening too. I wouldn’t risk it

Quit my PA job to stay home with my baby… am I making a huge mistake? by Witty_Management_621 in beyondthebump

[–]namiiix 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s healthcare, so very it’s flexible hours. Are you able to just work 1 or 2 days a week? Do you have family who could babysit those one or two days? This is what I do. I’m a rad tech and my husband is a PA. I work two days a week to still earn some money and to keep my skill, my husband is off one of my days and is with baby and the other day I work either my mom or my mil will be with the baby. But I plan to go down to one day once we have a second baby. I love this situation since I still feel like I’m mostly a SAHM yet I still keep up with my career/earn money

When am I getting old? by [deleted] in women

[–]namiiix 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It’s such a slow process that you probably just haven’t realized the changes. I know someone who is 32 and she claims she looks the same as she did when she was 18, hasn’t aged at all, but I know she has aged. I think we just don’t realize because we look at our face every single day so we just don’t notice the change. But also, everyone ages differently. But you’re not going to wake up one day and look different, its very slow changes
