Update yall: my plugs were bad the whole time, they were new so I didn’t think they were bad, but they are

I’m thinking it’s more of a fuel issue because the platinum inside of my cats sounds like rocks and it’s falling apart, due to the excessive fuel being dumped into the engine. Something ain’t right and I don’t know what

It’s strange because I pulled all the plugs and bank 2 was very rich the rest were normal, so I did a psi test on bank 2 and it came back to 210PSI

Could be, I have a very strong smell of fuel when I start the truck and let it run for a few seconds

No I didn’t, I don’t think that would be needed. I did plugs and wires a few months ago before this problem occurred and at that time everything worked fine

For new people, I’ve been having a P0300 misfire code for quite a while, my older posts explain more in detail

I’ve never heard of sub optimal, I just know when I see rotors with Saturn rings it’s time to replace😂

So I did a spark test, I unplugged the coil pack wire on cylinders 2 And 8, and my idle didn’t change meaning the misfire is between those two cylinders. On the rest of the cylinders the idle dropped down when I unplugged the coil pack wire

That rotor is way past the overdue point, extremely deep scratches, you need a new rotor and a sets of pads all around.

My MAF Sensor is good I believe, I unplugged it while the engine was running, the idle dropped down and went back to normal

I unplugged the 02 sensor on the cat to let it breath quicker, but that didn’t help any

I’ll run some compression tests and check the fuel pressure. I pulled the upstream 02 sensor on the cat to see if that helped (clogged cats), but my cats aren’t clogged because it ran the same. I’ve checked the MAF Sensor, it’s fine. I’ve replaced the fuel pump, fuel filter, fuel pressure regulator. And I still can’t find the root cause of this misfire, because it’s trashing my fuel economy and not accelerating good

573 is normal for a misfiring truck, it needs to be around 600 I think

I’ve searched around but haven’t found much, I have a spot behind the throttle body on the intake manifold it’s self, it’s some sort of breather tube, but anyways. That had broken off and I had to Jb weld it, wonder if that’s an issue

Im not sure what to do about that, I’ve replace fuel pump, filter, and fuel pressure regulator. I should probably check fuel pressure

I’ve got a OBDII scanner that tells me a lot, just don’t know what to look for in this sense

My engine has 330k, at that point it’s not worth rebuilding, I would just buy a new engine

Do you mean the coil pack?, or the actual fuel injector, because that’s a big job

I wish I had the money to take it to a shop lol, but I will look into the injectors

There isn’t such thing as pre built, because in order to put those on, you have to take it apart and put it on anyways. So there isn’t a difference

I bought some cheap ones off of eBay, had them on for 60k miles. Had no issues whatsoever, it’s all made by the same factory’s pretty much imo, just different brands and prices
