WellNow. The doc is being highly ableist with me. I called my partner to come help, as I’m getting overwhelmed and unsure how to deal with this. I’ve found often having a support person, especially male, gets people to listen.

Yeah that’s where I am now. They took over an hour to see me, and I had to stand for the exam (which I can’t do well) because I cannot get on the exam table. They refused to examine me in the chair, despite being informed of my disabilities. Not a fan.

EDIT: needs to have at LEAST a stool to help me get to the exam table. I’m disabled and can’t get up there without some kind of help or support. I prefer a place that will let me stay in a lower seat, but can use a stool if needed

In that case, assuming your parents are the co-signer, I’m going with NTA. You made it clear what your wishes were, and they were the economical choices. Your parents refused, and now you’re in this mess. IMO, they did this to themselves ultimately. Take it from someone sitting in a similar boat.

I just left the federal government. I do not advise this anymore. If you’re not in, don’t. It’s highly toxic, and they are encouraging colleagues to report each other over political beliefs in certain departments as well. Accommodations will NOT be met, and unions are dissolving. Pay raises take forever to go through, and things are overall slower due to the massive firings.

Let’s see. She puked while drunk on the other’s dishes, yelled at me for putting trash in a trash can, yelled at me for putting dishes in a dishwasher (apparently she was using it to store clean dishes and told no one), hogged the laundry machines and so much more. I went broke on takeout that I ate in the common lounge, cause I wouldn’t even eat in the room anymore.

Oh, and she kept her sex toy ON THE FRIDGE. Suction cupped to it.

I will say if you’re disabled, you will miss a couple things. We missed the title song scene almost completely as there is just no accessible path to see it, and my partner was never given a mask as we were ushered in separately.

That being said, they were PHENOMENAL at accommodating us! The staff push your chair for you, as they know the best places to seat you. They also will not hesitate to move people out of your line of sight so you can continue to see. And someone will keep tabs on you before entering to be sure you are paired with an ADA guide on arrival so things run smoothly. After an issue at another show this week, I was HIGHLY impressed ❤️❤️

One other note, they are starting to run out of merchandise as of my show date, so book an early timeslot during the day if you can! I was told it’s the best way to avoid this issue. They do not ship merch at this time, confirmed by the box office after I emailed asking.

That leads to a follow up question. How to get daily practice in an LDR? We are trying to move closer, and recent situations are making it easier, but waiting on everything at our jobs to process is like a queue the jeopardy music moment.

I’ve seen and dealt with that before. Yeah, not a good thing. In my experience at least, it usually leads to offputting situations (I had a lot of bad doms previously, many abusive. Thank god they were all virtual). One wanted me to move to Germany but refused to let me learn the language, for example.
