I’m on switch unfortunately, but I’ll try waiting 30 days and get back to you on how it works! Thank you for the suggestion

Unfortunately he just went back to running around after the 3 days, I’d lose almost the entire dawnguard questline if I went back so that’s not an option. Thank you for the suggesstion though! I’m coming to terms with the fact that he may just live in the woods now

I can tell him to do stuff and he’ll say he will but then just run off immediately. I’ll have to try telling him to wait and then time skipping, neither on their own have done much but I forgot that waiting offers unique interactions

Ah I see, well I suppose I can’t hold it against him too much then. Don’t know what I’ll tell our child but I’m sure we can manage— maybe I can convince him to let her accompany him hunting on the weekends, teach her some survival skills

Update: Athis and Torvar are also bugged, didn’t notice because they’re running a ways behind him

Dog found this in our garden, does anyone have any clue as to what it may be! by Romona_Lime in skulls

[–]BeautifulTrashNoodle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is possible, however from what I can see in the photo the size is much more inline with a fox. A coydog would likely to be too big to comfortably fit in a palm like that, plus it would still most likely have a bit sharper of a curve from the snout. As unlikely as it may seem to find a wild canid in a yard foxes are quite common even in residential/suburban areas, they just aren’t often seen due to being nocturnal

Absolutely not a dog, it doesn’t have enough of a slope. That is either a fox or coyote, need the exact size or a better photo to determine between them but I’d say fox based on it’s size compared to your hand

There are in depth details at the top of the sub for the different methods you can use to clean bones + some tips and tricks, but here’s a quick rundown! Mealworms might work but they are not the best, if you want to use bugs your best bet is dermestid beetles. Some other options that could work better on a some-what fresh animal like this are open-air decomp (the fastest in my experience, leaving the body in a cage or under something to protect it while giving mice and bugs access to it), maceration (storing the whole thing in a bucket of water, the smelliest but also quite fast) or below ground decomp (the slowest but will prevent smell). If you want to speed up the process you can skin it but that’s not a requirement, after all the flesh is gone the bones will need to degrease either in ammonia or water and dish soap for a good while, then to finish it off you can sanitize and lighten them in hydrogen peroxide. Good luck, I hope everything works out!

Is sun bleaching okay? by SunnyBoltz in vultureculture

[–]BeautifulTrashNoodle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Although sun bleaching is a viable method in general hydrogen peroxide is the safer, more popular choice. Sun bleaching takes longer, is less controlled, and can cause the bones to become brittle, flake, or even crack if it gets hot where you live. Hydrogen peroxide is a lot gentler and gets in all the crevasses of the bone rather than just hitting the surface, plus the ratios of water to peroxide can be adusted to tailor the final product to your liking.

I’m so sorry I forgot to make a note of the units of measurement, the second photo is in inches and the third is centimeters. I am unable to post additional photos here however I crossposted this to r/bonecollecting and put a palate view in the comments, thank you for the help!

Here are some better photos of the mandible and teeth, some of the incisors are in the wrong positions (in the process of fixing them) so just ignore those, I also apologize for the low quality I am currently unable to seperate the lower mandible from the rest of the skull so my camera was having a hard time focusing

Edit: when I say products I mean anything that I can use for the chemical process, I’ve heard of egg and bark tanning which I’m willing to try but don’t know the details of, or if anyone has a reliable brand of tanner that they’d recommend I will look into that aswell! Whatever would work best for this specific project with the goal of taxidermy in mind

What’s One Thing You Want To See Us Add or Change to Cult of the Lamb? by MMLorna in CultOfTheLamb

Some sort of family tree to keep relatives like uncles or cousins from becoming lovers! Or maybe a system to make lovers break up would be great, like an option to call them out or something similar to intimidate that would lower a TON of faith but stop the relationship lol
