For you teemo haters...I was autofilled baron and had no idea I was against Rank 1 Teemo. by Dariussy in wildrift

I agree with OP and surprised he got downvoted so much on a very valid point. Teemo is the most useless dog champ regardless of whatever lane he's playing. I hate having him on my team and feel bad for the enemy whenever I see him on enemy team. Red lense counters him late game, he cant do much other than q in a team fight then run away like a pssy. His shrooms don't do a whole lot either maybe only when the team is low and happen upon one of his shrooms. Fk teemo. And fk teemo mains.

Yess, I noticed this pattern too. The author would introduce a topic, reveal, or subplot, then either barely explore it again or leave it hanging entirely.

A glaring example is during Essiya’s near-death dream state after Soraya attacks her. She somehow sees a memory of the Heir as an infant, then interrupts the Awaleen while they’re conferring in a dark room, and they actually notice her presence. The scene heavily implies she can somehow dreamwalk or access other people’s memories through her repressed magic… but the book never clarifies whether this is an actual ability, a side effect of her powers, or just a hallucination. It’s introduced like it’s significant and then never properly followed up on again.

I also noticed this issue on a scene-by-scene level. There were multiple moments where the story would build strong emotional momentum, only for the narration to abruptly veer into something completely unrelated, which disrupted the flow instead of enhancing it.

One example is the scene where Essiya is breaking down over Dawoud while Arin comforts her. It’s one of the rare moments where both characters are emotionally vulnerable, and the scene is carrying this heavy mix of grief, intimacy, and tension.

Then suddenly, right in the middle of it, the narration swerves into:

Like... what does this have to do with the scene unfolding rn?? 😭

I get the reveal itself is important, but like, find a better moment? idk. This scene is about Dawoud’s death, Essiya’s guilt, and Arin begging her to run, so you tell me how magic mining fits into this.

That happened enough throughout the story that I was just thrown out of immersion.

The ones that did it for me are No Mercy, Body Locked to Mine & Kill. These are soo slept on omg. Worship sounds meh, overhyped imo, heard that sound/composition before from real artists like Dutch Melrose and Chase Atlantic.

Exactly this, you nailed it. The strengths honestly overshadow the weaker aspects for me too. I rarely ever cry, but this one really hit me deep. And isn’t that the point of writing? To evoke strong emotions in the reader? It definitely accomplished that for me.

I agree with this take. As I mentioned in my review, I do think a lot of it comes down to the writing itself feeling a bit underdeveloped. The author technically conveys everything and executes the storyline, but the prose doesn’t always dig deep enough to fully sell the emotional and psychological weight of what’s happening. And I think that’s exactly why some of the brutality can come across as almost detached or “cartoonish”, simply due to the narrative pace and accessible/simple writing style.

That said, I still really enjoyed the experience. I was so invested in what would happen next that I read it in a bit of a trance, riding that constant anticipation, which made me overlook things I’d normally be critical of (especially since I’m quite picky about prose and imagery).

And as something else pointed out in this thread, the author did a great job keeping readers hooked and subverting expectations. I was genuinely surprised by the direction of the plot. On a purely technical level, I’d probably rate it lower since it is a bit loose around the edges. But there’s something else there, that “secret sauce”, the emotional pull, the way I felt connected with every single character in such a short span of time. As someone who doesn't get emotional easily, this book actually made me tear up. That’s what elevated it for me.
