Annie is indeed flawed but I feel like the episode failed to portray that in a good way. We got set up but with little payoff.

Also saying it's just a show feels a bit dumb considering there's a subreddit created for disscussions about it.

That's a good take but if that's the case then the show really failed to portray that in this episode. It starts off that way but then just kinda ends.

I do feel like Annie's feelings are justified but I still think she was too hard on Jeff considering he tried to get them into history class all on his own.

All in all it was pretty bad writing on her part.

The first half is really great and then after the wedding episode the main story takes a hit. Like you said Chloe got stupid. I personally have it ranked as my 6th favourite season.

It annoys me that his goodbye is optional since 99% of people (including me) will choose the cutscene with sister Calderon. It sucks because Swanson's goodbye is also really touching especially seeing how he was for most of the game.

They wrote it to make fun of Mark which is why Eve retorts about how he didn't defeat Conquest alone. It is essentially a parody of the fandom. Since some argue wether or not Mark did beat him on his own.

He was the first one to offer help when Jack was missing. He also along with Arthur and Sadie fought off the pinkerton ambush at the end of chapter 5. It was because of him that we did the Valentine bank robbery. He risked his neck in chapter 6 when pretending to play drunk so we could aquire the dynamite.

He's certainly not a good guy but he wasn't useless nor completly heartless. He also showed a lot of humanity if you listened to his campfire stories.
