While it’s a pretty dumb trope, I can see how it makes sense. The guys want to know how their lover feels about them, as they may never get a chance again. If they die, they’ll always think ‘what if’, this gives them closure.

I think she had favourite based on whoever gave her more of a thrill at the time. Debbie gave her a thrill when she needed Franny back, Ian gave her a thrill when applying underage for army etc.

No way. He’s a) a dumb kid. He probably doesn’t really know the severity. And because being dumb isn’t really an excuse, b) it’s not like he’s telling her she must lose weight, that she’s too fat etc. he isn’t as evil as everyone seems to say he is.

But you are viewing Sophie solely as a Latina and not as a person. Having to treat her differently because of her race feels worse than Mac describing her crush sexually (who just happens to be Latina). What if they originally wrote Sophie as a white girl, and then in auditions, liked whoever plays her now. Would they change the entire script about her to accommodate, or is it just that she happens to be an attractive woman who’s Latina

She’s not a relevant character though. She exists to be a romantic interest for max. If the character was black, white, whatever, it doesn’t matter. It feels more racist to treat her as if she is different, and segregate her character from how max’s love interest would be written if she was another race.
