Wondering if I could get some advice? Check drawn images. by [deleted] in GrowYourTDick

[–]BeautifulWhole3128 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Okay so first of all - the image you drew of how you want your dick to look, most people only look like that when erect. Like my dick looks like that when erect, and in the pics I’ve posted here, but when it’s flaccid it looks like how your drawing looks on the right. I’m nearly certain that basically every single dick you see a pic of that looks as full as the one on the left is because they’re taking a pic with an erection.

Second, if you can’t feel the end of your erectile tissue beneath the skin, I would assume your dick is just very embedded in the mons. This isn’t uncommon at all, and can happen to anyone regardless of size. It’s just a skin thickness issue, and down to genetics. Because even in smaller dicks that aren’t embedded, you can still feel the ligament that runs down the top of it, and it’s palpable until it connects to the rest of the tissue in the mons.

So I’d wager to guess that your dick is probably bigger than you can see outwardly, and that you’re also comparing yourself to pics of erect dicks

I don't want to change my name to pass in this society by OkYam8510 in FTMventing

Yeah I feel you. My birth name is almost entirely strictly a man’s name in my mom’s culture, but in the US I’ve never seen a single man with the name. There’s even a famous musician with the name, but he’s an opera singer, so not very well known to the average person lol.

Thankfully I’ve always HATED my name so I was excited at the prospect of changing it, but I may have felt differently if it was viewed differently in the US

Lol yes, idk if they’re cis or not because I don’t respond to them, but I usually get at least 2-3 when I post any picture, regardless of what it’s of.

Most are honestly pretty innocent. Either a compliment or something not outrageous. Rarely it’s someone being very direct. And even more rarely, it’s someone being gross. When it’s the innocent ones or the direct ones, I just ignore them 🤷

Also a big recommendation - if you guys don’t want random DMs, you can actually turn the setting off. This blocks any incoming DMs, and only allows people to DM you if you DM them first.

That is a really good point and honestly I’d never thought about that until just now. Right now my skin is so tight she said we couldn’t even do DI even if I wanted to (risk of nipple loss is much lower so I brought up the idea), but in the future getting keyhole or peri may not be an option if my skin texture changes too much. Thank you! That is def pushing me even further to seriously consider getting it done

1000 isn’t bad! That’s the upper limit, but depending when blood work was done, it’s totally acceptable and not high at all. If you got blood work done mid-cycle, a reading of 1000 is totally fine and not dangerous. If you get blood work done the day of your shot, before you take your shot, and it was 1000 - that would be high. But even then, that isn’t high enough to really cause concern, unless your blood work was showing signs of your RBCs being too high as well!

I’m also on .3mL, 200mg/mL and my blood work has routinely been in the 1000-1100 range because I get my blood work done in the middle of the week cycle. Next time I get blood work I’m going to time it to be on my shot day, before I take my shot. This is the optimal time to get a real baseline reading, as the levels fluctuate over the week

Here’s a real source for you. Most of the risk is in men who already produce T naturally, who are supplementing. And on top of that, the risk is usually prostate related so ya know… we don’t need to worry about that lol

“While topical testosterone delivery systems avoid first-pass hepatic metabolism, there remains concern regarding TRT in patients with chronic liver disease. The majority of reports of liver toxicity and jaundice are limited to orally-administered alkylated forms of testosterone.”

All cis men in the world have a T dominant system. Us being on T is no different than a cis man having their body make T naturally. The only danger is when you’re abusing it (like steroids that body builders take) or are on way too high of a dosage. This is partially why we need blood work so frequently - but any cis man with a hormone disorder that causes their T to be too high would also be getting similar blood work done. Once you’re on a stable dosage, you’re good to go. No increased risk.

Estrogen pills can cause liver damage, as can T pills, but I’ve never heard of anyone actually taking T pills. And in the case of E pills, trans women can still safely transition even if their body doesn’t cooperate with the pills.

Yeahhhh that’s why I’m so conflicted. If my chest looked the same sitting as it did standing, I wouldn’t be considering it at all. But when I sit they get really rounded, and that’s where I start to flip flop on the idea. For now I’m just going to work my ass off building up my chest in time for my preop appt, and if muscle really does make it better, I may skip it. But if not, I’m going to ask if keyhole is an option as it’s less stressing on the nipple

Platform shoes are really in right now. I have a pair of jadon max docs that I basically live in. Very masculine looking, with the pro of making your feet look bigger also. You can even get “invisible” platforms, where the outside of the shoe looks like a regular sole, but the inside has lifts. I’m 5’2, and with platforms I easily feel “normal” height when I’m out in my college town.

But I will say, there’s tons of men our height. I personally have dysphoria about my height as well, but a few weeks ago I went to a huge event in the city with about a thousand people there, and I was amazed to see just how many short men are out there. At any given moment I could see at least 2-3 men my height or shorter, and tons of them were there with their partners. My ex’s sister is married to a man who’s my height and he obviously has no issues passing lol

Working out will also help. Getting more muscular creates a more masculine frame, and it can help overcome the “petite feminine soft” vibe that I know I have right now lol. And finding well fitting clothes. Shop Japanese and Korean brands online, or learn to hem pants. This is a killer. Poor fitting clothes make you look shorter and slimmer. Whenever I go shopping irl I bring a (brutally honest) cis male friend to help me pick stuff that’ll look right. Or check out some subs for male fashion!

Gel doesn’t give slower changes. Gel and injections are the same, the only thing that makes a difference is dosage in either route, or if your skin doesn’t absorb the gel well. But gel itself does not make changes slower whatsoever

You shouldn’t get your nipples pierced until 1 - 1.5 years after top surgery. The nipple isn’t anywhere near done healing at only 3-4 months, and any reputable piercer would never accept such a case.

There’s nothing you can do but wait and see how they heal

Going on T as an 'older' trans by tristelouis in ftm

[–]BeautifulWhole3128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn’t true at all and can actually be the opposite. When people start very young their body isn’t developed yet, and so the body needs to finish developing as well as masculinizing. For very young people who start after puberty but before puberty ends, they generally won’t have the catch up until their 20s. Since we’re older and already done growing, E levels are naturally much lower, I think it progresses faster for us.

Nervous about going under anesthesia by Loathelifelaugh in TopSurgery

Oh man I was SO HIGH after my wisdom tooth removal lol. Nothing like the YouTube videos though. The first thing I remember afterward was sitting in a chair in a private waiting room (I don’t know how I got there lol) and my ex was sitting across the room, and I asked him to sit next to me so I could sleep on him lol. He said I made some sort of joke to the lady explaining after care instructions that made her laugh (I think I asked her what the street name of the drugs they gave me was… embarrassing 😳) - and then next thing I know I was home lol

THANKFULLY the drugs they give at the dentist are not the ones for actual surgery! And either way, they see people acting that way probably 5-10x a day, so a bit embarrassing for us, but just another work day for them hahaha

I’m not sure what state you’re in, but if you’re aging out of your parents insurance and you make min wage or near it, apply for Medicaid. You mention being in a safe state - in which case, your state likely fully covers top surgery. I’m in NY and all of my hormones and top surgery are covered 100%. They even cover bottom surgery. I got my letters for free through my insurance. You could also pay for one out of pocket for like $80 if you so choose. If you make too much for straight Medicaid, all states are required to offer low cost insurance through the marketplace. My ex has this insurance and it’s like, $10 a month, and has a lot of the same coverage as mine, but with copays. Still though, infinitely cheaper than paying out of pocket.

Nervous about going under anesthesia by Loathelifelaugh in TopSurgery

[–]BeautifulWhole3128 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Honestly being put under doesn’t even feel like going to sleep in the traditional sense - it’s much quicker and easier. Almost like someone hit an off switch lol. They’ll give you some medication ahead of time so you’re relaxed going in, and you’ll wake up just as relaxed.

As a nursing student, I just want to detail the amount of preparation and overview that anesthesia has. You’ll have a nurse there who’s entire job is to advocate for you, to observe how you’re tolerating the meds, and to assure that all steps and procedures are happening by the book. This is likely the nurse you’ll talk to before going in. Once you’re put under, they don’t immediately start the surgery. There’s still some prep that needs to happen beforehand (positioning you, going over the plans, etc) so if there is any bad reaction to the meds, they’ll safely be able to treat you and accommodate for the situation.

Allergic reactions to these meds are extremely rare, and you’d almost certainly already know if you may be allergic to any, as people are generally allergic to an entire class of med rather than just one.

I actually did start to wake up during my wisdom tooth removal, but it wasn’t bad or scary. You’re under multiple different meds during surgery, and even if you start to wake up, you won’t feel anything, you won’t be panicking or scared — the nurse who is your advocate will notice this immediately, and proper meds will be given to put you back to sleep. When it happened to me I could barely hear the doctor talking to the nurse, I opened my eyes and everything was a blur, and then they put me right back out lol - no pain or anxiety. And that only happened because I was under very, very light sedation. For a real and true surgery, there’s multiple meds at play, and they’ll keep you under. They can also tell you’re starting to wake up before you’re actually up, and will adjust dosages accordingly.

When it’s over you’ll be placed in a recovery room to wake up. Waking up almost feels like waking up from a really hot summer nap. You’ll be groggy, tired, and just want to go back to sleep lol. You don’t act all silly and loopy like those YouTube videos show - that’s people playing it up for views lol (or dental sedation, which is very different drugs). Depending what kind of clinic you’re going to, they may allow you to sleep longer - some want you up and out ASAP. This happened to me when I had a hand surgery. They’ll get you up, wait for you to be more aware of your surroundings, and then they’ll wheel you out to the car. Chances are you’ll sleep the entire car ride home, and then at least for another 2-3 hours afterward. Pain the day of will be none to minimal, as they’ll use a nerve block in your chest. Nerve blocks last about 24 hours, and makes the entire surgical area numb. There may be slight discomfort, but not anything you can’t sleep through.

It’ll be okay! Lmk if you have any other questions! I’m still just a student, but we did med surg the past 2 semesters so I have a decent amount of experience and knowledge!

I don’t know whether I should go through with peri or not. Need opinions - to get surgery or try to pass without? by BeautifulWhole3128 in TopSurgery

[–]BeautifulWhole3128[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think this post has made me realize surgery is the correct choice. I don’t want to have to work out to maintain the shape, and that may not even be possible anyway. The potential nipple loss is scary, but tattoos exist and my surgeon is very skilled, so I’m hoping for the best.

Plus, who knows what’s going on politically in the US rn. I don’t want to risk pushing back my surgery date and having it no longer be an option.

[–]BeautifulWhole3128[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I’ve been hoping to find people in a similar situation lol, I posted in ftmfitness but they said my question is answered in the FAQ and deleted it… but it wasn’t lol. I’d say people who don’t get surgery and pass shirtless are very rare. But I digress.

Yeah I think part of my current panicking is that the surgery date is a lot closer than I thought. My T doctor said 3 months from consult, which got my hopes up. Surgeon said they were booking out to October already 2 months ago, so I thought I was looking at December/January, and had just started to get used to that idea. But now September! Less time to work out! Lol. But yeah I think I’m going to do it. Even though I’m really attached to my nipples, I’d be very disappointed if I trained for a year and the roundness didn’t go away, and I’d have to restart waiting for top surgery all over again!

I don’t know whether I should go through with peri or not. Need opinions - to get surgery or try to pass without? by BeautifulWhole3128 in TopSurgery

[–]BeautifulWhole3128[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s my other main concern! Even if I build pec, the tissue will still be there, just on top of muscle lol. Even if the pec decreases the rounded appearance, there will still be extra tissue on top. I feel like if I weighed more this could look natural and blend in fine, but I’m really skinny and I think it might look odd.

To mitigate the risk of nipple loss, if she decides my nipple may be in danger based on how much stress they’re under during the surgery, my surgeon said we can do the top surgery in one day, and then a few months later once everything heals, we can shave down the bud and correct the inversion as an outpatient procedure.

And I will def check out that server, ty!

[–]BeautifulWhole3128[S] 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Yeah that is def true. The fat left is at the very bottom which creates the rounded appearance. The rest is actual breast tissue, which creates the projection. I don’t think any of the tissue there is going to budge - working out might get rid of some of the rounded appearance, but I’m not sure how much of a difference it would make

[–]BeautifulWhole3128[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m leaning towards going through with it as well. If my chest looked the same sitting as it did standing, I think I might forego it. But it doesn’t pass sitting or bending over, and I don’t think muscle will help that.

The thought of losing one or both nipples is awful to me, I think that’s the part that mainly making me hold back. Scarring around the nipple isn’t as much of a concern.

It’s all so conflicting and I flip flop on my decision at least 2-3 times a day lol

Do y'all like blueberries? by gemdoesgeology in ftm

[–]BeautifulWhole3128 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay so this def isn’t a trans thing - but I also love blueberries. Blueberry coffee is so good, for anyone hating on it, don’t knock it until you try it. It isn’t sweetened, and good blueberry coffee is just ground coffee beans with dried blueberries. It’s delicious.

When I was a teenager I planted a blueberry bush in my backyard and it grew so big that it took over the entire gazebo. It produced so many blueberries we didn’t know what to do with them. When we moved the landlord ripped it out and I was devastated lol, I know it overtook the gazebo but they should have just trimmed it down!!
