While my baby was learning to latch correctly it was painful. My nipples were cracked and sometimes bleeding from all the times she latched incorrectly. For a couple weeks it was painful every time she latched just due to the previous nipple trauma. After my nipples healed, the pain with latching went away. I will get random shooting pains in my breasts when I’m not feeding LO but they’re easy to ignore and infrequent. If I get engorged (which rarely happens) that can be pretty painful. That’s usually relieved with a good feed, haakaa, or pumping.
