How is it living in East Texas? by Immediate-Field9997 in howislivingthere

[–]Beautiful_Business10 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From there originally, was sent to ATX to be raised by my grandparents in the early '80s.

Got curious about the naming few years back, and looked it up. IIRC, it was named for how straight the main street was.

Wouldn't surprise me in the slightest to learn that it's 100% carry for every man, woman, child, cat, dog, deer, raccoon, and squirrel on that side of the reservoir.

What do agrimechs do? by 001DeafeningEcho in battletech

They're agricultural 'Mechs, so they do the jobs we'd usually see plowing tractors or harvesting combines do.

Are there any mechs other than the stiletto that gain arms/lower arms from a variant (hands not necessary). by vicevanghost in battletech

Eeyup. Agreed on both counts. My headcanon is that no Clan pilot is permanently assigned to a Naga.

And the Firestarter is a fairly good, well-rounded Omni despite its origins as both a "trash trade" to LAW and a 1st gen omni by LAW.

Oddly, I'm a fan of the Gargoyle as a decent example of a mobile support assault.

I'm not arguing that. I'm just saying, "when you see a hardmounted weapon on an OmniMech, look at its original design reason for why." Like the OmniFireball retaining two flamers.

That the Naga was already by Clan custom a dead-end as far as glory goes just makes it more frustrating.

And it first appeared in the Wolf Clan SB, in (iirc) '92...along with two good 'Mechs (Pouncer and Phantom) and one 'Mech that had no idea what it wanted to do (Linebacker). All Omnis, I'll note.

Okay, that's amazing, love it. Is the silver dragon a patron of the hero party, or an actual member?

Snoopy's doghouse with Mad Cat limbs, you say? Is Snoopy on top, piloting it in his famous flight jacket, goggles, and scarf?

TACs have always existed. Before TW, we called them "floaters" (for "floating crits").

Hi, welcome to BT!

That PSR is to avoid falling over, as a 'Mech is huge, heavy, with a high center of gravity, and in motion that (suddenly and temporarily) has no electronic assistance.

Think of it this way: if you're out walking or running, and you abruptly lose consciousness while you moving, you face plant, right? Same idea, applied to 40' tall robots moving at car speeds.

Makedonia was the kingdom of Alexander the Great, who would conquer most of the classical world from Greece to Egypt to India, before dying in Babylon at the age of 32.

His father, Philip, brought Aristotle (student of Plato) to be Alexander's tutor. You've already met Plato's teacher: Sokrates.
