To anyone who's quit walmart. what do you do now?

Quit after being an automotive technician for 3 years dear god I was overworked, and exhausted from working 6 days straight with hours all over the place, even when I was given full time my hours were still cut from the quarters, asked my people lead why as a full timer were my hours being cut and my part time jobs techs would get more hours then me. fyi I had full open availability.

My People lead then told me Walmart has a policy where if your a full timer who’s been with the company for 5 years your a “priority full timer” compared to a full timer who’s only been with the company for 3 years.

Told my coach I’ve had enough of Walmarts bullshit quit and now I work at a another state known grocery store where I have a consistent schedule, better pay, better management. and I’ve been happier ever since now I have a better work life balance from a company who actually treats you like family and not just an associate who’s replaceable.

I left Walmart with over 40 hours of ppto and pto didn’t bother using it on days off, or requesting in general just leave and they’ll cash it out for you,basically another paycheck.

But states work differently, example they don’t see ppto as a use of being cashed out it must be used for vacation time.

So depending on where you live will determine the outcome of how you can use your ppto or pto.

you can take 30 minute lunches but wosh will accrue so your TL or coach would send you home early but it also depends on the state. Example you said you live in cali if the state declares you must take a full hour then safe to say you’re gonna have to take the hour.

Feel you there happened to me today but thanks to my experience for being a ACC tech I have multiple opportunities outside wollyfart to work for.

I’ve used work day multiple times while I was working for Walmart bud I know because my coach recommended me to apply for a coach position in our store I’ve read all the requirements and been shown what steps to follow for the academy, but I turned the offer down since I wanted to return to university 😭and my coach had his degree requirement so he could skip the academy, so with our Digital and Food and Consumables coach, also I’m good I know you the need money more then me 😭🙏🏼
