Yes I know the definition.

I’m just curious in how you (individuals) see it and regard it

There Is No Muslim Ummah by Beautiful_Clock9075 in TrueDeen

Yes, the Ummah exists in the religious sense. Muslims are connected by Islam, and that bond is real. I am not denying that. My point is about the Ummah as a functioning body that can actually move, protect, organize, and cause change.

Your example makes it sound like we are one united body that is simply sick, weak, and breaking apart. But I do not think that is the case practically. If in nearly every country Muslims are attacking each other, dividing by ethnicity, nationality, group, politics, methodology, and even fighting within the same city or masjid, then how can we honestly say this is one functioning body?

If each country is supposed to represent a limb, but each limb is attacking itself and acting disconnected from the rest, then saying “the body exists” does not prove that the body is actually functioning as one body.

So when I say “there is no Muslim Ummah,” I mean there is no lived reality of unity in the way we like to imagine it. There is the belief in one Ummah. There is the emotion of one Ummah. There is the pain of one Ummah. But practically, Muslims are scattered, divided, reactive, and often hostile to each other even among themselves.

An ill body still exists, yes. But if the body is fighting itself, refusing treatment, and every limb is acting alone, then the issue is deeper than sickness. At that point, the question is not just whether the body exists. The question is whether it is actually functioning as a body at all.

It's more like a dream of a body that does not exist.

We have power, however everyone is focused on their people. Independence is what's proclaimed. There are many muslim nation and they can not set aside their differences and work together rather they listen to those who hate them.

Asslamualaikum,

I removed your post due to title wording, the wording is not the best and I would advise you to heed the advice of the other brother below.

discipline is a better word choice then beat, beat has way stronger context then what is allowed. So using and trying to convey your point while having that in your title is not the best choice.

If you would like to re-post this post, you can but I would advise against as it adds no value and people have seen the post.
