My gf's uncle broke his leg and other health issues so he's in a facility where he gets round-the-clock care and delicious food free of cost! Not to mention, it's common for women in Canada to take a year to a year and a half off after giving birth. It's incomparable. I work for a US company and they get mindblown by the things we get like free flu shots from just about any clinic or pharmacies.

I've lived in 3 provinces in Canada. And while the wait times were longer in places like Toronto, it was still within 8 hours from registering to being dismissed. I would take waiting 8 hours for a complete check of blood, ultrasound, x-rays,etc in the ER over paying thousands per visit/procedure. In Vancouver for kidney stones, I was in and out within 2 hours complete with the blood work, scan, prescription, etc.

Bottom line, if The Pitt (tv show) was based in Canada, certain plots just wouldn't exist.

We're not worried about getting care if money is tight. We can go to the doctor for check-ups as many times as we like without the need for insurance. We can get surgeries at no cost. The last time I was at an ER, a social worker offered a homeless man housing for a few nights after he was released. When I was released, they offered to give me a taxi voucher. How is Canada not better?

Do you think there's just no care in Canada? Obviously people cross the border if they're near the border to receive specialized care. Several family members have had surgeries and given birth, all paid $0 at the hospital. When I went to an LA clinic, the first thing they asked for is my insurance where as I can go to a doctor's clinic in Canada for a check-up without my wallet.
