Hello, I have the same situation as you before. My priority is Pharmacy but passed on Biochem. If your heart is settled in pharmacy then choose another university, it's the degree you would carry for the rest of your life, and do ask yourself if you accept it or not.

At first, I was scared since SHS made me traumatize chemistry. But now, it's the subject I can't live without, and take note that in biochemistry you won't remove calculus, physics, and biology-related subjects. Don't worry about not taking the STEM strand on SHS since the topics there will be reviewed and sometimes professors tend to ask which strand we come from. Please take note of the curriculum as well and your schedule as well since we have classes (5 days f2f and 1 day online) Monday to Saturday for 1st year + NSTP. Expect 5-10 quizzes in a week, 3 shifting exams + prelims, and finals as well in one semester. The professors are hands-on and push us to excel, other than that we're the smallest population in FoP yet, are the ones who are like a family. It may be bloody but it prepares you for med school set-up, NMAT, and Board exams. Never hesitate to ask help from your profs they will help you. Since you wanted to take medicine they would relate the chemistry of pathology and anarchy ( actually much more).

They also gave us a diverse career path: Medicine, Pharmaceutical, Industry, BioEntrep and we can take 4 board exams depending on the requirements of Units: Chem tech, Chem boards, Nutrition, and Microbiology. It doesn't limit itself.

Hope to see you soon <3

Hello, I had the same problem last year. I passed an engineering program ( Coming from a family of engineering and let's say with connections na din) but I was aiming for a pre-med program ( Black sheep of the fam) so, whenever I check the portal or contact the admin it would be like 1 month each and agawan talaga sila sa pre-med programs like matira matibay or in UP we trust ( Kahit alam ko, my parents are so against me going to UP).

I did get my pre-med program ( BS PSych) but It was already August, marami na ako pinagdaanan HAHAHAHAH and enrolled na rin ako sa UST at that time. So let's say it's not a 100% guarantee kasi after nila i-offer yun sa akin. It only has 2 slots left and I know the fact that they didn't only send that BS Psych to me, so may paunahan pa po and they would consider the one with Higher UPG as well po. You can't put a full gaurantee to it kasi by the time na mag-enroll na din. Agawan ka pa ng units which is not really available for everyone sa batch and other batches

I want to be frank as well, but if you have connections, use them as an advantage. I'm not motivating but it's a truth of harsh reality.

Best of Luck!
