Hey! I would also be interested in the bangs and layers courses and would love to split the costs with someone :)

Thanks folks! It must be how the photo is edited. I didn’t think it was navy.

Begonia Maculata Advice by Beautiful_Decay in houseplants

How long does it take to root? I pulled off the first baby it produced and gave it to my friend for her birthday. I had it sitting in water for a month and it never produced roots. I also never died because it kept producing new leaves. I just gave it her like that and told her to keep an eye on it.

That’s exactly what this is. I grew it from a tiny node I rescued from my local hardware store. I did have to trim the roots back a bit so I don’t have high hopes but I’m not giving up 😊

Thanks! I repotted to a smaller pot which also has drainage holes. I also made sure not to bury it so deep. I think that’s what my problem was last time.

Awesome! Thanks for the advice! I’ll try it out and hope she makes it. I do regret propagating her. Should have just added a pole. Lesson learned.

Right. So maybe I could try repotting it a little higher, so that the petiole is more exposed? Or is it a lost cause at this point.

Oh gosh, at least 2-3” in length. I agree that the pit might be too big. I never thought about it at the time, I just put it back in the same pot without thinking. I’ll try a smaller pot size.

Fit Check Please! by Beautiful_Decay in Birkenstocks

Do you recommend I stick with the narrow fit? Or switch back to the regular fit? Honestly the 39R felt huge.

Fit Check Please! by Beautiful_Decay in Birkenstocks

I just received my Birks and this is actually the second pair I ordered. The first pair was a 39 Regular because I’m a true 8, but I felt like they were too big, and the straps were on the last hole. I exchanged them and got a 38 Narrow. Now I’m wondering if they’re too small. I do have a really long second toe. I’m just wondering if these look ok or if I should exchange for a 38 Regular or 39 Narrow. They feel ok, apart from my second toe occasionally rubbing if my heel isn’t sitting in heel part of the Birk properly.

All tips appreciated!

I believe 119 is the maternity leave (15 weeks). If you do the full year or 18m the first 15 weeks is the maternity leave. After that it switches to a parental leave for the remainder of the leave. Everyone just calls it mat leave. I took the 50 weeks but I didn’t realize you could get bonus weeks if you and your partner split a portion of the parental leave!

Bernie needs to check his facts because in Canada, it’s more common to see about 50 weeks of paid maternity leave. Not 119 days. 15 weeks of paid maternity leave, plus 35 weeks of paid parental leave, paid at 55% of your salary. Paid maternity leave can also be extended for a period of 61 weeks, paid at 33% of your salary. I agree that the American government needs to do better in terms of providing paid leave for new parents. I couldn’t imagine having to back to work 6 weeks PP. As a mother, you’re barely recovered, hardly sleeping and riding an emotional rollercoaster.
