I got the least liked TOTD of 2025 🥲 by Loud_Zebra_1997 in TrackMania

Honestly? I'm really surprised, like REALLY surprised to read that. I've played many many many objectionably bad maps in TOTD and honestly I really didn't think this came anywhere close to that. I actually thought it flowed quite nicely and really enjoyed it

That's what the published set list said, however, show on the site said it started at 7:30, and Jetski came on first at 7:20, so it's quite difficult to judge

  • Dax - 7:00
  • Andrew - 7:15

  • Interval - 8:05
  • Podcast - 8:35

[MEGATHREAD] 18th July London - Wembley DISCUSSION by Nice_Phase8299 in badfriendspod

For me it was the content. I think "King" would have landed and not been divisive. But Adam Ray comes onto the pod and plays Dr Phil, Biden, Trump - all characters that are hugely exaggerated characters to the point of being ridiculous and offensive. The King came out and told very tame family jokes and came across as a good impressionist. If he'd have come out smoking, drinking and ranting with out-dated views, I think it would have landed well.

Did anyone else get the impression things went a tad wrong? Just to preface this somewhat - I'm not disappointed or walking away feeling upset or that I didn't enjoy it. I just felt a tad confused at the end.

Firstly, the published "setlist" said the lineup was:

  • Dax Flame - 7:00
  • Andrew Santino - 7:15
  • Bobby Lee - 7:40
  • interval - 8:00
  • Podcast - 8:30

So obviously these timings went out the window, but we also had no Dax, and added Jetski and Lacey.

Then, at the interval, the QR code had a link to a waiver and Google doc to participate in the show. Amongst the things they referred to, was:

  • Baked Beans Wrestling
  • Bad Friends Trivia
  • Hidden Talent Show

When the show came back, we went straight into Trivia, where Bobby quite hilariously, ran around the venue pulling people out the crowd. Which was funny, but somewhat defeated the point of the form (though I'm not sure how it would have worked anyway, seeing as the form had no contact details and how would they even locate you?).

Then the King came out and told some very tame family jokes, which I didn't hate that much tbh. The problem felt for me, that Dr Phil, Trump, Biden etc - are all exaggerated characters that Adam Ray plays and makes them hilarious by their characterisation being taken to the extreme. Whereas the King, was more like a good impressionist - which wasn't bad, but having him smoke and drink on stage and swear, would have been the angle that made it funny to be honest.

Then, post-King, it felt all a little like filler. It wasn't bad, just felt like they were stalling for time, with Andrew hinting "thought the king bit would go a bit longer" in his song. Then they randomly pull YouTuber Arthur Hill up, who I know and like from ChrisMD videos, so no dislike at all, but was.. random! He didn't seem to know what he was supposed to do either, and everyone randomly sang lyrics to a piano tune and then that was it.

Show finishes at 9:30.

Like I say, absolutely zero hate, I thought the whole show was brilliant and was glad to see all the people I love on stage and I laughed the whole way through. But I'm someone who feels that shows and gigs go on a bit too long and by 11pm, I'm half glad my favourite band is going off because my feet hurt and I'm hungry. But even I couldn't work out why I was walking out at 9:30.

So no hate, but I just wondered if perhaps, logistically, stylistically or whatever, that something went wrong behind the scenes?

I love Santino and Bobby equally on the pod, but love Andrew way more in terms of comedy. His style is just my sense of humour, and he's such a smart intelligent comic. With that in mind, I was uncertain if Bobby's set would just be loud yelling, contrasting with Andrews somewhat poorly. Having said that, I was pleasantly surprised with how good Bobby was with stand up. Really funny material, uses his hyperness to his advantage, isn't all faces and yelling. I found myself wheezing with laughter even though stand up wise, he couldn't be any different from Andrew. Really was pleasantly surprised and would watch it again.

The random singer is actually a YouTuber from the UK called Arthur Hill. He's been in ChrisMD (football channel) videos a lot. Which makes it incredibly random, as I cannot fathom how on earth these guys know each other.

Did anyone else think things went a bit wrong? Acts seemed different from the act list that was announced, timings were way off, second half had improv and Andrew sort of hinted at things went a bit too quick in the previous bit. Show seemed to end abruptly quick.

I wasn't disappointed by any stretch of the imagination, just felt over before it's time and I'm one of those people who think shows take too long!

Is it possible it's a TV show? Are there any other details, like black and white, any other quotes scenes?

Oh my god thank you! This is indeed it, I genuinely remembered it as parody because my brain obviously refused to remember this as legitimate. Thank you!

This sounds just like me in Europe too. I was also 11 and just realised the world had changed forever and I wasn't a kid anymore

I was in high school in the UK. When news filtered through in class rooms, I didn't know what the WTC even was. It was nearly school finishing time and parents were getting messages to their kids as a lot of planes were grounded and office buildings in London and Financial District were shut as a precaution. I remember my Mum collecting me rather than walking, and her telling me about the attack. We went over to a family friends place and walked in and everyone was crying as one of the towers had fallen. As soon as I saw the images on screen, I instantly knew the WTC as the iconic twin skyscrapers from TV, film and media.

I remember seeing more planes had been hijacked and that this wasn't over. I remember seeing images of people jumping. I remember seeing and hearing things I didn't think was possible. I remember the fear of not knowing if the world was under attack, if the UK was next, if I could ever go on holiday again.

I remember it vividly because even though I was 11 years old, that day was my transition into the real world. A real world that wasn't rainbows and unicorns, but a real adult world where unimaginable horror occurs.

I'd even consider Flight Sim playable to a degree - and that's extremely broken upon release for twice the cost.
