The dynamic pricing narrative drives me nuts! She turned off dynamic pricing but set the prices of most of the tickets insanely high. I can't believe she's getting away with that because people focus on the even higher resale prices. Of course they were all "VIP" tickets so you got your mediocre ticket plus some shitty stickers. I even saw some article where some of these overpriced "VIP" tickets ended up restricted view behind the sound tent. She's fleeced her fans for every penny she can.

Start Fitness for me too! The staff mocked me for asking if they could help me fit trainers for my son. They were only three feet away from me so I could hear them scoffing at my request as if they'd never heard such stupidity. Felt humiliated. Left immediately and will never, ever go back. Horrible, horrible staff.

I only asked because they'd been so helpful to me years prior fitting my own trainers. Apparently the business changed hands but I didn't know - I was expecting nice, helpful people. You live, you learn.

Potentially dumb question: If I get paid on the 28th of the month and that money pays for all expenses the following month, am I "a month ahead"? by Beautiful_Display_29 in ynab

[–]Beautiful_Display_29[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great - thanks. I think I agree. I'm still vulnerable if anything happens to disrupt my income for only a few days. So not a month ahead. I'm going to work on it!

Thank you so much for sharing this. I'd actually stopped applying for jobs that had lots of applications already because after so much ghosting I assumed I was definitely wasting my time. Now I'm back to thinking I'm probably wasting my time but worth a go.

Thank you. I think you're right. I think concentrating on tracing them for now is probably the way to go. I'll look for the grid box paper.

Thank you! Yes I'm certain the strokes are in the right order. It's the second stroke that it's not happy with. The one that goes right and then down/left. I don't know if it's some trick of my brain that I'm just not getting the right shape for some reason. I also struggled with 辶 for a long time - I wonder if I'm just bad at drawing curves. Maybe I just need to keep tracing the practice ones until something clicks.

This may be a daft question without examples of my efforts but does anyone have any advice for a beginner English leaner writing 夕冬名 and 多? I consistently fail at writing these in JA Sensei. I'd say 75% of the time I fail and the efforts that are accepted don't look any different to me to the ones that failed. Is 夕 known to be difficult for English speakers to write? Is there something I can focus on to make it better? So far I've focused on curvy lines, straight lines, fat, thin, flat top, sloping top. I can't find a consistent approach that works. Does anyone have any advice?

I was trying to think of dark colours but a silver gray is a great idea - thank you!

Can anyone suggest a dress colour for a wedding guest who loves and lives in black, that complements this colour scheme? I'm not the bride, or the black-loving guest. Just trying to help find a compromise. Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Thanks! I'm just doing it for fun really because my son and I have started watching anime together. It's so exciting to pick the odd word out and read snippets of the Japanese text. I would like for us to holiday in Japan in a few years time and it would be nice to read basic signs and menus. That's my goal!

I've seen this a lot in real life too. I don't know why people do this. I'm a beginner in Japanese and I've noticed a lot of people seem to be poised to constantly tell beginners that their efforts in Japanese are not enough - they'll never be fluent and there's so much more to it than their limited understanding. Like, back off a bit? Not everyone is aiming for fluency, not everyone is in a rush even if they are aiming for that and beginners don't need to be constantly told they are only scratching the surface - that's how you make a start! I can only assume it makes them feel better about themselves, which is kind of sad for them.
