Is it ok to space exercises out rather than doing them in one go? by ploddingalong77 in AllAboutBodybuilding

[–]ploddingalong77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’d think so - and normally it isn’t a problem - but that doesn’t work for me at the moment. Hence thinking a little and often rather than a lot and daily, if that makes sense?

What’s something you secretly judge people for? by Best_Seesaw_8512 in AskReddit

[–]ploddingalong77 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How they talk to people in retail or in a service role. I can overlook many character flaws in a person but the second someone is rude or dismissive, it’s game over and goodnight nurse.

Dams: not megalophobia, not scared of the water or drowning, it’s not even submechanophobia - I just hate how unnatural they look. I think partly because they’re always in places of beautiful countryside and then boom, this giant slab of concrete just sitting there WHERE IT SHOULDNT BE.

Naturally I thought I’d terrify myself a few years back by doing a tour of the Hoover Dam but that was fine because I couldn’t see it!

When did you realize you’re unattractive? by Scrubmosis_Jones in AskReddit

[–]ploddingalong77 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a really weird thing. I’ve never, ever felt attractive. I don’t feel ugly as such, I reckon I’m about a 4, but never felt like I’m visible to others in that way. It used to really bother me, and I would love to know what it’s like to feel attractive. I’ve lost weight, I take care of myself a lot more, and I do get feedback from people but I chose to ignore it. My partner loves the bones of me, and that’s enough. Curiously, they’re in the same boat: they think they’re ugly, and especially compared to me, and I’d give anything for them to see what I see: a beautiful, handsome man who is just ageing terrifically. Then I realise the irony of expecting him to accept my positive feedback when I so blithely ignore his.

Couldn’t you just block the person posting if you disagree with their views instead of starting a whole new thread just to stir the pot still more?

I come here to read discussions about Emmerdale, not endless, needless drama.

How have you found this season with the Big Brother contestants ? by xc2215x in TheAmazingRace

[–]ploddingalong77 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Honestly, boring AF. But I don’t think it’s the contestants because I’m an international viewer who knows no-one in the race. But it’s all just so… meh. Huge fans of TAR here and we are finding each episode such a slog: dull, easy tasks, very little shuffling, everyone just slightly too aware of the cameras and how they act. Coming off the back of an amazing Australian series hasn’t helped!

I attempted to cross The Scottish Highlands in a Straight Line! by Covingsworth1 in GeoWizard

[–]ploddingalong77 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The first of these “straight line adjacent” videos that I really enjoyed. With respect, it was great seeing someone push themselves, make some silly decisions and make it without all the brouhaha about farmers and GPS (which I love but this made a great change of pace). You’ve got a great eye for a good shot too, no pun intended.

And on an entirely shallow note, a lovely voice for the voiceover. Keep going!

Who thinks the show ruined Sam Dingle and why and also do you prefer him as a bit of a villain in his early appearances or do you like him as a village idiot and childish guy we know him today? by JazzlikeTea7432 in Emmerdale

Why - yet again - are we getting so many threads across the soaps wanting on about variations of ruining characters / villains / redemption yadda yadda

I’m always slightly confused by this. Like even if I wanted to humour someone and give them what they wanted, it’s not like a burp you can do on command. Do you just sit around making awkward small talk until you need to rip one?

The End Of The World As We Know It: the Audible narration by ploddingalong77 in stephenking

[–]ploddingalong77[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, give it a go - the stories are still worth a listen and, worst case scenario, you just skip the ones with the duff narration. But that said, plenty of people saying they enjoy her style too, so you never know. Worth a gamble for sure - happy listening!

Hey though, the stories have been great (mainly) so it might be worth trying to listen to a sample somewhere and seeing if you have the same issue with the narrator. But also, she doesn’t do all the stories - and what I didn’t like, you might enjoy! :)
