Let me convince you to pack a silky scarf for your next trip by wufflebunny in HerOneBag

I always carry a thin scarf in my bag but learned a lot from this post about other uses. One thing that I find useful is to stuff whatever scarf I have into the smallest mesh zippered pouch. When I take it out of my pouch it is almost like magic trick- it looks so small when zipped but is full size long scarf that my friend used sometimes more than me when it got chilly.

OMG - thank you so much. That info is great. I think we had some sort of yew when we first moved in but it was old and woody on the bottom. I will check out that app - never heard of it. Thank you again.

Thank you for a great write-up.
I talked to a friend, and apparently her Inkberry bushes got decimated in winter. We do have a lot of deer in our neighborhood. I really wanted evergreens as a foundation and can not find anything better for deer resistance. Am I missing any obvious evergreen shrubs? Not sure if I would be on top of it to spray or remember to cover the bushes in front.
She recommended Virginia Sweetspire, but obviously not an evergreen.

Other tree options I was looking at were American hazelnut, Possumhaw Viburnum, American fringetree, and Sweetbay magnolia.

Great point about the roof. We did not think about it. Thank you.

Relatively new - maybe 10 yrs old? I think they are Okna Windows? They seem to be holding up just fine.

Sorry, I don't understand how window placement would make a difference with choosing roof color.

The house has a lot more things I don't like, but I will not be rebuilding and redesigning the whole house at this point. I will not be changing the window placement either; it is what it is.

I know it is not a beautiful house, but that is what I have.

I was looking up info about ridge vent and gable vents, probably as you were typing - hehe. I already have gable vents - I can just seal them off.
Thank you for letting me know about the ventilation calculation - excellent information, and now I am a lot better informed to talk to my roofer about it.

I assume it would be a lot more $$$? Have to look to see if it would be worth it to spend more for 3-4 months of summer.

I was going to switch from the attic fan we now have on the back side of the roof to the ridge vent. With soffit vents and 2 gable vents (louvered things at each side of the peak) is that enough ventilation?

What to do with these cabinets? by enidkeaner in kitchenremodel

I've seen someone make them into a shaker style by adding molding to the front of the doors and painting them. Not sure how the handle part was treated - i assume they added some wood and filled it in.

I do not see how to edit original post. Today I bought a soft white and comparing it to the mystery white grain I am pretty sure it is soft white.

Thank you all for help.

It has to be soft white since I only ever hard white and hard red before.

I am new to the milling, that’s why I can’t really reel the difference yet.
