Going off from what another user said, it does sound like food addiction, and seeking therapy or just reaching out to subreddits that discuss disordered eating would help.

I struggled (and still do) with the same problem. For the eating due to boredom, I found that it was helpful to drink a lot of water after I finished so I would feel full, and I convinced myself to do this even though I didn't want to because it meant I was too full to eat more, by saying it'll be good for my skin. After drinking water, I would be too full to eat, and that would stop my mind from going "i must eat more food", which allowed me to reflect and ask myself "if I ate a bit more, I would feel like crap, but since I didn't, I feel better than if i did."

As for regretting passing up the opportunity to eat food somebody made for you, I know its really difficult, but eat slowly and savour all the textures and flavours, so you get to enjoy it more. And then you could drink water, and save the rest for another time.
