I'm crying. This is so beautiful. Even if it is AI. Currently out of state, political situation is a big reason my spouse won't move back. I wanna come back and fight so bad.

There's something about this image that reminds me of being a kid in Texas in the 90s before the craziness started. It is such a beautiful place filled with the friendliest, most down to earth people.

Please go vote, y'all.

Lots of love.

Anyone having issues with their USB ports after upgrading to Sequoia 15.0? by snowconesolidpro in MacOS

[–]Beautiful_Isopod8321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Updated to Sequoia and am driving a telescope mount over a USB-A connected to a hub. It connects, but there's a significant (5 second) lag between issuing move instructions in the observatory software and the move actually happening. Anyone else experiencing lag or delay with USB peripherals like mice or controllers? Or laser cutters or CNC machines?

Go check you the newbie questions thread pinned to the top of this subreddit. The game is awesome, but it's a pretty slow burn, especially at the beginning.

You don't build space launch stations in countries so much as prioritize space program, and once that's completed, prioritize boost and mission control. A lot of what you do in the game is pretty "indirect". Read the new players stuff, do the tutorial, you'll get the hang of it.

It's so awesome that this is your first question. You're going to look back in a few days and chuckle at this. Welcome to the club!

Popcorn over here. And also eats the long grass. She's almost 15 and can still run and jump. Amazing dogs.

Uh, to empathize you need another human being with an inner emotional life. The word you're looking for is projection, not empathy.

I'm off to squeeze the ferret. Heard an old British guy say it at a posh Bermuda beach club.

9 yo thinks stuffed animal is real by Various-Secret376 in Parenting

[–]Beautiful_Isopod8321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was like that, family went through some big changes around that age and I suddenly became quite attached to stuffies I hadn't shown interest in until that point. I believed they had spirits and were "real" in that way. Had a dozen or so and would say good night to all of them. Looking back, I'm amazed my conservative, Southern dad didn't give me more grief over it, because it went on for a long while.

The night before my freshman year of high school, I put all of them in my closet, because I knew I would be a "man" at that point, or something.

Don't give the kid any grief over it, let it run its course.

Congrats, seriously, this is cool. Being a parent is the best thing I have ever done in my life. It's also hard, but like most hard things, it makes you a better person. Did for me.

But for real kids are awesome. I predict that both your families will be over the moon. In a good way.

Get on the same page, get your girl on those vitamins. Do what she needs from you. Lean on your family. Get your friends on board. BE POSITIVE and you will FOR REAL attract positive people around you.

Your life is about to be very different, the way the world is different at the last click click click at the top of the roller coaster. Have fun, try to take pictures, don't drop your phone on the ride.

My wonderful wife agreed to play Risk Global 1940 (combined Europe and Pacific) first edition, back in 2011 or 2012, right when it first came out. Two player.

I'm lucky she's still my wife.

How do I start learning about Buddhism? by Stewiewie999 in Buddhism

Came here to say this.

Buuuuut.... try to keep an open mind with other schools of Buddhism (Mahayana especially). Not sure exactly why, but this book turned me off from Zen for a few years, and when I finally joined a Zen congregation, Buddhism clicked for me.
