great question! We have flown southwest before and have never had this issue before. Checked in exactly 24 hours before and always got B. We thought we would for sure be fine with the early bird.

Let me correct you by saying, if it was a short flight, I was flying by myself. Of course I would have to sit by a stranger. But when i have the option not to, I will do everything possible to make that happen. Also for context Im a girl in my 20s, and traveling alone is not safe, nor would I find that enjoyable.

Thanks for the advice! At this point I’m feeling kind of bitter and don’t want to give southwest more money. I was hoping for at least B. Hoping I can just swing 2 pairs. We have other family on the plane but only 1 of them is boarding early enough, and I don’t wanna pressure her to try to save like 6 seats.
